Charity Name - JUBILEE HALL CLUBS https://www.jubileehallclubs.co.uk
Providing Health and Fitness to the local Community
With funding we have been able to run MEND programmes in Covent Garden for children aged 7 - 13 years. This is a really important grass root issue tackling some of our preventable health issues at an early stage. Not enough is done in Central London to make a real difference and yet the fitness industry is seemingly booming. We are a small 4 club Trust trying to make a real difference to OUR community but at the same time trying to exist in a highly competitive market. Help tackle child hood obesity and start creating a healthy generation.:j0 -

I'd like to nominate Sense for a MSE Charity in 2008 please
Registered Charity No. 289868
www.sense.org.uk
Sense is the leading national charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind and who have other disabilities also.I would also like to highlight the up-coming Deafblind Awareness Week 23 - 29 June 2008. Why not learn to fingerspell as a charity event and raise funds for this highly needed but rarely adequately recognised charityMany Thanks0 -
I would like to nominate Stonebridge City Farm of Nottingham.
Registered Charity No.508565
http://www.stonebridgecityfarm.com
Visitor & learning centre for disadvantaged folk
Established as a training and visitor centre for over ten years, Stonebridge City Farm has traditionally received grant support from the voluntary sector. Sadly, in these difficult times this type of funding is in decline. Undaunted, the community is constantly evolving and is addressing these adversities by exploring alternative sources. Please visit the website for details.0 -
I would like to nominate Greek Animal Rescue. The website is greekanimalrescue.com. Rescues and rehomes distressed animals in Greece. There are no words to describe the appalling cruelty suffered by animals throughout Greece. Just look at the pictures on the website. This small charity, run by dedicated volunteers, would benefit greatly from the generous offer from Martin Lewis' Money Saving Expert.com site.0

a hospital ship staffed by volunteers
Since 1978 Mercy Ships have provided hope and healing to thousands of people throughout the developing world by performing life changing operations and empowering communities through projects focused on water and sanitation, education, infrastructure development and agriculture. I would like to nominate NCH - the children's charity.
www.nch.org.uk (Registered Charity Number 1097940)
Life changing work with children and young people.
NCH supports over 178,000 vulnerable children, young people and their families across the UK. At our 500 projects we support those affected by issues such as poverty, abuse, neglect, family break-up, homelessness, disability, and much more. One area of our work is intensive family support where we work with families to tackle social issues, one of which is supporting low income families by helping them to manage their money successfully. Likewise, our work with homeless young people or those in temporary accommodation involves helping them develop their skills for independent living which includes improving financial literacy. At NCH We believe all children and young people have unique potential and that they should have the support and opportunities they need to reach it. Our vision is world where all children and young people have a sense of belonging and are loved and valued. A world where they can fulfil their potential, shape their destiny and experience the joy of life.0 -
a. Kidscape
b. www.kidscape.org.uk
c. Small charity supporting bullied children and their families
d. Everybody in the country was either bullied at school or knows someone who was, and Kidscape is there to help those victims of bullying, and to try and prevent it happening to others. It is a small but perfectly-formed charity which has been battling for funds since 1984. They do a fantastic job with a dedicated and small team of only 13 staff. They work with children, families and schools across the country, helping bullied children regain self-confidence through free one-day ZAP assertiveness sessions and offering a helpline for parents of bullied children. They also provide training to schools, social workers and anyone who works with young people. Kidscape is not a flashy charity which spends your donations on chuggers and glossy junk mail and even a £10 donation makes a real difference to their work.0 -
A. Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (UK)
B. http://www.mandela-children.org.uk/
C. Changing the way society treats children and youth.
D. Nelson Mandela’s vision for the future, commitment, sacrifice and role in leading his country into a new democratic era has made him an iconic world leader. One of his first actions as President of the newly democratic South Africa in 1994 was to establish the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (NMCF).
NMCF UK was established in 1996 and we fundraise for 100’s of development projects in South Africa and play a vital advocacy role in protecting and developing children’s rights.
Our work in the UK includes support for ‘The Kids Taskforce’ educational programme for schools, which teaches children how to lead safer lives and to manage risks and we run a schools programme teaching children about the importance of charity.
This is a special year as Mr Mandela celebrates his 90th birthday. Please support NMCF UK and help to realise Mr Mandela’s vision of a better life for children and youth.0
