was just about to post last night and a mum from school rang didn't get off the phone until 11.45pm:eek:

adding to list - took 2 days of work (didn't tell me until 2hrs before he was due to leave!) when man utd were playing final game of season:mad: then 2 weeks after that he took 3 days of when man utd were playing chelsea in that cup thing (again didn't tell me until same day) what really made me cross was that the week after the kids were off school and i had to ask one of the mums from school to have them!!!  I am very sorry but surely our children are the priority NOT football!

Lol - I'm getting worried now! Are you sure we're not married to the same man??
Seriously though - football seems to be my OH's number one priority too and it sounds like something he'd do and I'd go mad at! I tolerate his love of football though because its really his only passion in life. I love fashion, he loves football. Just call us posh and becks eh!
It sounds like alot of things have built up and your not getting any 'nice bits' to make up for it. Someone once said to me that to keep a marriage going takes a whole lot of love and a whole lot of romance. I try to remember that and make the effort to keep things loving and fresh. 8 years on we're more in love than ever.
I really hope you can sort it out - think back to what it was you liked about him in the beginning. Try to have some time alone - dates etc, even if its just watching film together in the house. It would be a shame to waste all those years together. That said, if you cant get it back then get out. It would be just as much of a shame to waste any more years on a man you dont love!

:rotfl: It winds me up too! MY OH plays 3 evenings a week, then watches some matches, MATD etc. I used to ahte it with a passion as I felt it was taking him away from me - now I dont mind so much as it means I get to hog the remote and indulge my love of reality tv which he HATES! If he's watching football on the weekend, I get all my 'jobs' done or take the kids to do the shopping to the park etc. Then the Sunday is family day out time and he has to do whatever we want. Maybe with abit of give and take things could work out??

I think when we have the talk! i will have to explain that because he sleeps so much we are missing the family time particularly on a sunday, and i do feel that is big part of whats missing! it brought it home on sunday, ipassed the marina coming back from my mums and they were doing free boat trips on the canal.....but by the time i'd got home woken him up etc it was too late! now i know i could have taken them on my own but it would ahve been nice to do that as a family..i will keep an eye out and see if they are going to do it again the kids will love it:D

Would it be a possibility for him to look for a day job? It seems alot of your problems have started since he went onto nights.

funny you should say that ........i'd thought the same thing last night although he would have to earn a bit more than he gets now (which is not a lot at all) then i could finish my evening shifts! he does nights so that i can work as well ..........he gets up i go to work ! At least we would have evenings and sundays together......great minds:A

Just a general comment, not really directed at the OP, but am I the only one that finds the idea of "stashing" money like this really....wrong...

Either you want to be in the relationship or not...If you don't, sticking around and gradually stealing money (whether it's your own or not..) until you can "afford" to leave just seems...horrible, I guess.

(I know, of course, there are people in violent relationships etc who don't have much choice..)
