This is happining not when I try to talk to him but on a normal day to day . He will not discuss anything with me and just says "!!!!!! here we go again" and gets angry usually storms off.
I am calmly trying to keep the lines of communication open but nothing seems to work. Its all very difficult to explain but I am so fed up of trying .
Hi there
I just read the whole thread and hope you get an answer to what you want to do soon.
I just wanted to suggest, rightly or wrongly, of you looking into the possibility of Aspergers Syndrome. It is being diagnosed in more and more adults and lots of things you have mentioned were red flags, such as your OH rocking, being socially withdrawn and being difficult to access emotionally and being a late-comer to the world of dating.
Whatever issues your OH has, however, doesn't excuse the shouting at your daughter, but you have admitted you have done it when unhappy and I don't think many parents keep it together all the time.
Good luck

Hi Mrs Weasley, although I'm not in your position my mum was when we were growing up but my dad was an alcholic, many times she threatened to leave him if he didn't pack in the drink, but worrying about money made her stay, till eventually she snapped and she divorced him.
I don't blame my mum for doing it I hated my dad for putting alcohol before us, and no I don't beleive alcholism is a disease it's a habit like any other.
I'm in my 30's now and single I don't hate men, have a bf, but decided years ago the way forward for me is to pay my mortagage and look after myself moneywise, and sometimes I wonder if my mum's worry over money transferred to me, I wonder if she'd have left earlier I wouldn't worry half as much, but she had 4 kids so naturally was concerned about money.
I guess my point is maybe your happiness is worth more than having a few more quid in the bank? and hope you find what your looking for one day.0 -
Thanks for all replies
Hadn't entered my head that he might actually have a mental illness, i do know that he has always been a 'strange' person, but initially he got alot better when he met me, but i think he is worse now than ever.
I will have a look at everyones suggestions next week when he is back at work. Thank you.
Thins came to a head yesterday when i came home and he was asleep started very calmly trying to explain things to him but then it came to the usual F off i'm not listening to this etc etc. Will post more next week.
Hope you all ahve a lovely weekend.....esp. Juiffe!!!:D And my rock Bertiebots:D

Hi all,
was going to post this aftternon but got side tracked reading bad mummy threadso he we are.....
we had a good talk (again!) on friday morning broached the subject of rocking and obsessive (ish) behaviour, lack of emotional support and he has finally said that he needs some help :T i think (hope) that was a big step forward in the right direction. I have told him if he is willing to do this i will be there for him and support him every step of the way. So now we just need to get to the docs and find out what we do next.
The weekend went ok, i noticed yesterday he was trying really hard not to be grumpy/miserable before he went to work last night. At least he is making an effort but if we work together......
Haven't had a look at any web sites yet but will do...keep getting sidetracked
thanks al mrs w xxxI know i'm in my own world~it's ok they know me here!!!

 Just done a post and lost it GGRRRRRRR!!!!!!
Am feeling a bit fed up today....don't know why
Thanks to everyone for there suggstions re OH :T
Have spent a couple of days looking into things.....i have discounted bi-polar (thats more me:eek:), had a read on the Mind site at Post Traumatic Stress - and that does relate to OH in some aspects, then had a look at Aspergers and that really does describe OH I was quite shocked and in a way relieved!
Bertie and i had a look again yesterday and found a test so we did it from what ime and bertie know ( I know its not ideal but it was just to give me an idea as to what i am looking for) anyway generally people with Aspergers comeout with a score of 32 or more, OH score came out at 45! So maybe i have the answer.
I was thinking of making an appointment at docs for me an discussing Ohs problems with him and then making an appointment for OH .... would this be the way to go or do i make an appointment for OH and go with him.
Car failed MOT yesterday  and until HM courts pay OH his expenses we have no money for repairs  we don't even know how much he is getting
OH is on short time again and won't get a wage (if thats what you call it ) until next week! He finished at 2am came home whatched something he had recordedb then slept on the couch until i got up, i really need to get him to come to bed when he gets in and then he will get a proper sleep he looked absolutely shattered this morning.
O a lighter note i have been lurking on OS board looking for some inspiration for tightening our belts (Note to self - STOP SMOKING!!) and was impressed with Mark88??? and Lilaclil's threads so i think i will be poppping over there for some lighter reading :rotfl:
Thanks (hope i don't lose this post :rotfl:)
