I solved the pap2's ip problem by using **** 73738# and 1 to confirm. It now has an IP assigned to it.
However, when i try enter the admin page it asks for a user name & password. I don't remember it asking for these before. Was there a way of disabling them?
Many thanks,
Mark.
73738 is the factory reset code!!! I don't think that was wise.
You probably need to go through the unlock again now. You MUST keep the PAP2 off the internet until the unlock is complete or you may find it becomes permanently locked to Vonage.
The normal username is 'user' and password is '1234'. These are the details for devices unlocked to the nomal method.
I am out now until about 7pm (I'm back).
Good luck. Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -
I've reset the pap2 and managed to upload the 2 patch's so im back to square one with it. Just need to search and find the settings for VOIPbuster & SIPdiscount.
This may be silly question but could also be where i am going wrong - when i enabled DNZ to the PAP2, i entered the same IP address that i use to access the PAP2's interface in the web browser. Is this the correct way or is there another IP i should enable in the router?
Thanks,

DMZ not DNZ, IP address used for web access is correct for DMZ.Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -
Comet informed me this morning that Pontefract & Huddersfield EACH have 3 units in stock. As Comet 'don't sell' these units anymore (per their website) they should be the old (unlockable) variety. Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0

Managed to get the pap2 up and running and it works fine with sipgate for incoming calls. Still can't get sipdiscount or voipbuster to work due to the incoming audio problem, but for now im happy.

Does anyone know if the present batch of Linksys PAP 2 - Vonage units sold by Broadband buyer are 'un-lockable'? Thanks .... just want to check before I place an order (Thanks).
Also can I use one of these behind an existing Netgear TA612Vsp?
And lastly does anyone know (therorically) how many simultanious VoIP/Sip calls I could have on my Telewest 10mb/386 BB connection?
Thanks :cool:0 -

I don't know about the TA612V but I have a PAP2 sitting behind a Grandstream ATA486 which works fine as long as you use different port numbers - i.e. only one device is using 5060.
As for the number of simultaneous calls, upstream speed and the codec used is the issue - I find a G711.u-law call uses 80-100Kbps each.
Thanks

Thanks - Gavin :-)
Was just able to buy TWO - PAP2's from Comet in Orpington (Kent) for £19.99 each - unfortunatly they don't have any others.
They have the two RJ11/BT adapters and came in the shrink wrapped orange/white box - so I guess they are the old stock ones .... (that Vonage hav'nt got too)
Now to set them up ....

Fantastic / Great ! .... all working !!
With 2 sipgate numbers off my origional Netgear TA612VSP and now a further 2 further sipgate numbers off the PAP2 connected to the Linksys Wireless router. All I need to do now is connect the next one to give 6 numbers and see if all can carry call simultaniously accross the broadband link.
