I get beep beep beep if I FORGET to prefix the call with 00 44. It isn't needed with Sipgate but it is with Voipbuster (also lose the leading zero). Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -

Popped down to Bolton yesterday after work to get some bits and bobs for my computer, noticed also in the area was a Comet so popped in to see if I could see any of these voip adaptors (no expecting to find any). Whilst browsing came across a display of 20 of them, the boxes were empty (but all the PC peripherals in the store had empty boxes), so thought nothing ventured and picked up a box and went to the checkout. Assistant scanned the barcode and was shocked to see the computer said they had none in the store, she was even more confused when I said they had 20 of the empty boxes displayed on the shop floor, so she phoned the store room to see is they there were any - store guy didn't reconise any put would pickup the box from the counter to see if he could reconise it. Long and short he didn't reconise any in the store room but in the mean time she asked one the assistant managers if he new anything about them - now this gets interesting, he can remember one being sold that week and that a Vonage rep came during the week, he can't remember exactly whether he dropped 3 off or took 3 away but since they can't find any he expects the Vonage guy took all they had with them and he knows none have been sold since in the store.
So it looks like the stock is getting taken off by Vonage.0 -

Thank you for pointing this out - our package contents has been corrected. The vonage package does include 2 x USA/BT adapters.
For those that are still following; ordered 2 of these from BBB but unfortunately only 1x BT adaptor in each box.... Will be asking them if that's now right (and TBH if it is then can't really say much fairer than that anyway) - but just fyi for anyone still looking for these.0 -
finally got mine to work, i had to write a letter to my assigned isp asking if they could open the ports sipgate needs, and to my amazement they have!0

Out of interest, who is your ISP?Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -
Their a company called ubroadband, but the service is provided by BT. And i pay the company who owns where i live (you may know it as you in sheffield, its the forge, by waitroes) So their not really an isp
I wrote to the company who owns the building as the server for the interent is on their site and controlled by the managment team (who i did ask to fix it but basically didnt care), not BT who only seem to provide them with the connection from the exchange to the building. (the building does not have telephone lines in each room is all networked)
I guess they got the managment to change it on their server, as i think that was the problem, i.e they had turned off port fordwarding to stop filesharing.
On their website it has a list of the ports i shoud be able to use, but the fiar usage policy stats they may change that at anytime and without notice.
Basically the whole thing is a fix to make even more money from students, while proving a sub standard service.0 -
I know this is a little off topic but can anyone reccomend an VOIP phone that supports VOIPbuster and doesn't require the PC to be switched on?
I've seen the IP-TALK 203 on eBay - anyone used it successfully on VOIPbuster and if so where did you get the settings from?
Thanks in advance,

Unless you REALLY want an integrated phone, using a terminal adapter and a standard DECT phone gives you a lot more flexibility.
You can still pickup a cheap PAP2 unit if you want one:

I don't have experience of the phone on EBay but I would recommend buying a popular model as this makes support and firmware upgrades much easier to source.
I have a PAP2 and a Grandstream ATA486 both connected to my ADSL line. The Grandstream is configured for VoIPBuster and works fine with a Philips DECT phone. We use it for free calls to the in-laws in Spain.
This site in the U.S. gives a handy wizard for a lot of popular models:
