Thats a shame.. What about forwarding incoming calls on Port1 to Port2? Allowing you to use 1 phone for two incoming providers? Some people say you can, but I tried yesterday, and it didnt work for me.

It can be done but not with Voipbuster & Sipgate. The VOIP provider must allow unconditional forwarding.

Free World Dialup (FWD) http://www.freeworlddialup.com/index.php allow unconditional forwarding.

    Calluk http://www.calluk.com/fwd/y2e11a45fwwgtmrxmubds455)/Default.aspx
provide 0870 numbers to use with FWD.

So in theory, with FWD (call uk 0870 number) and a second VOIP you can forward line 1 to line 2 etc. I haven't tried it yet but I have a link to the configuration of line forwarding if anyone wants it (a guy in the US posted the details to a forum but as most pepole weren't using FWD it didn't work for most of the forum members).

As you need an 0870 number, unless you have customers dialing in (rather than friends & family) a 2 line switch for £30 appears to be the better option.

If you search enough you may find a provider with geographic numbers access and unconditional forwarding.

Comet are still showing no stock of the PAP2 (code 270202). This is only their central database of stock not their stock at stores. I have just picked up another 2 (have 4 now). If you ring your local store for product 270202 they will insist on calling it a Linksys webcam. We know it's not a webcam but they don't know any better.

  • Can someone tell me whether this adapter will work with NTL cable modem? If so, do I have to connect it to the cable modem using usb/ethernet port or can I connect it directly to the cable that comes into the house?

Reading the box it states cable / DSL modem so it should work with ntl cable. In fact it I think it will work with any high speed access i.e. works LAN (on the net), ISDN etc.

It requires an ethernet (RJ45) connection to your router / modem.

  • Thanks for the reply Stabilo...I think I will phone my mate in Comet to see if they have any in stock....
  • Hi everyone

Firstly thanks to OP for this find. Got one last week from Comet. After nearly giving up trying all branches quite far from me and close to me, I had one last shot at another branch that was only 20mins away, anyway i asked for a physical stock check and she said she coudn't see a webcam, so I said look again for a VOIP Telephone type thing... Great. She found one, So i asked to hold it, and she said can you put it through at your end? I was like huh? She assumed I worked at another branch! When I said I was a customer she said she coudnt hold it, So I asked nicely, If she can put it behind the till and I will come before 5pm, so she did - I turned up and paid for it.. Anyway, so its all good and i've unlocked it!! :D

Now I am really lost tho. I didnt think configuring it would be this difficult!!

I basiclly want to have Sipgate on line 1. (I managed to get it running, but now its all messed up and nothing works (its not been relocked dont worry)

On line 2 i would like VOIPBuster or the other one, that was discussed, (I cant remember the name) - Same company as VOIPBuster.

However I was already in such a rush last week I made a VOIPBuster account and put credit in too, But reading on here there was another company that was better, I need some guidance from you people in here....

Im totally lost and am making no use of this VOIP box.

Im lost on configuration details of both SIPgate, VOIP Buster, if its supposed to be DMZ, or if i need to set up port forwarding? Or these dial plans, they just make me really confused!!

Please if someone could be willing to help me out somehow that would be so kind, I was thinking if I go back to step one and re-do the firmware from scratch (unlock it again and start from there)

Im hoping if someone already has like a dummies PDF Guide, or once mine is set up I dont mind writing a PDF guide for helping others with the unlock/sipgate/voip buster plan including other things like DMZ, Dial Plans, etc etc etc, there is just so much Im lost!!!!

    MoneyWastingMe,

There was a useful link to Wikicities regarding the PAP2 but it has been pulled.

    What router are you using?

I will pm you details from Wikicities

If it is unlocked you will not need to start from the beginning.

Here are a few general comments for all users:

Wikicities states no to DHCP but I use DHCP. There are a few UK settings you should be aware of:

In Regional (miscellaneous) FXS port impedance is the one that starts 270.

Caller ID is the one that ends (UK). You may need to set DTMF in lines 1 & 2 (audio configuration) to INFO.

My dial plan for sipgate is (xx.|*xx.|**xx.|#xx.) and voipbuster is (xx.|*xx.|**xx.|#xx.) (identical I believe).

Most problems are router connected not PAP2 based. If you have DMZ feature on your router add the IP of the PAP2. Enable port forwarding on the following ports to the IP Address of your PAP2: (suggest both UDP and TCP protocols)
    • 5060 - 5061
    • 35000 – 44999
    • 16384 - 16482
Voxilla.com provides AUTOMATIC configuration of the PAP2 for Sipgate (just modify uk bits as above).

I have line 1 set as port 5060 and line 2 as port 5061 (although it works fine for me both at port 5060).

Finally if you have QOS facility on your router set ports 5060 & 5061 (VOIP) to high priority. May help call quality if your PC is busy downloading files etc.

I have just scanned through the 95 page manual for your router and it has DMZ but not QOS. Should be fine.
