So the phone ports on the back are they independant of line1/2? I assumed line1 settings were for phone plugged into phone 1 and line to for phone plugged into line 2.
Are you saying that line1/2 settings apply for both phone1/2 ?
Seems like i've made a pretty major oversight !
Thanks,0 -

Thanks,
You haven't made an oversight, your understanding is correct. However you can set it up to have one phone sharing both lines. In this case, some systems will automatically dial out on line 1 unless you enter a code (say #2). In the same way as Xlite (VOIP software) assumes line 1 unless you indicate otherwise. If you are planning to have separate phones it doesn't really matter which way round you set them up. Although 'convention' would say put your preferred provider on line 1. You can always do this later, I'm sure your priority is to get both lines to work. Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -
Thanks, where did you get your auth id from for Sipgate?0

Thanks, I didnt realise it was possible to have 1 phone sharing both lines as you point out and this is ultimately what i'd like to do.
As you say it's something I'll get to as soon as I have sipgate working.0 -

Login to the Sipgate website, then go here:
http://www.sipgate.co.uk/setup/sipura
Then hit the line 1 or line 2 tab, and it will show you your auth ID, user ID and password (not the same password as the one you use to login to the website)0 -
Thanks got sipgate working now too. Was just the authid/password thing. I was using my standard login/pass!
That's enough for today! I'll switch the line 1/2 over tomorrow and try and get them working on the same phone.
Thanks,
