But the most confusing bit is with exactly the same settings one user (which has no credit) gets online fine, dial tone fine and am able to place calls fine for upto 1 minute obviously wheras the other user (which has credit) gets online fine, dial tone fine but am not able to place any calls (engage tone).

Yes, it could be that the accounts are set up slightly differently on Voipbuster's end. This is a beta service so irregularities are to be expected. Even if one account works on a particular setup, it doesn't guarantee that other accounts will also work with that same setup.

You're not connected to the PC client at the same time by any chance?

    You could try:

    1) Put in the outbound proxy details (sip.voipbuster.com), use outbound=yes
    2) Use stun.voipbuster.com (proxy) and nat.voiptalk.org:5065 (outbound proxy) instead

Also have you tried the sip.sipdiscount.com proxy?

Yeah, I found the 16384-91 ports and that bit is working fine now.

The problem now is that, whilst I can dial out using sipgate to 10000 and 50000 (I don't have any credit to check for dialing out to PSTN lines) I can't dial in using the sipgate number I've been assigned. Also my home page at sipgate.co.uk always says I'm offline, even though I can use 50000 to check voicemails etc. If I dial my number from a regualr phone, I get "this number is busy" all the time. Very frustrating, as I can clearly see that my PAP2 says I'm online.

I'm going to write to their tech support and see if there's a problem at their end... if anyone has any other ideas, I'd be grateful to hear them... after nearly 4 days of fiddling around with this, my other half is about to burst a bloodvessel :)

If you dial out to a PSTN do you get the message 'you do not have enough credit to make this call..'? If you can dial into voicemail you are almost there.

Are you dialling the full std code for your sipgate number?
Dont forget sipgate 'mess around' with your number e.g. if you have an std code of 01234 and a number of 567899 your id will become 4567899, i.e. your number is not std plus ID it is std less right digit plus ID.

For what it's worth it took me about 10 days and my wife wasn't best pleased, especially as we have a 10 week old daughter.

Using Sipgate, cannot recived incoming calls, when I dial my sipgate no. from my mobile I get a weird tone and if I look at my sipgate account it displays the calls I made. I can make outgoing calls ok and the test 10000 number is ok. Using X-lite on winxp sp1 (no firewalls or other apps blocking anything.)

    Anyone help pls?

Sipgate have a fault, some calls are getting through and others are not.

Can anybody with MSN help me set up VoipBuster? I've managed to get it to connect to voipbuster and the pap2 shows my status as online but i can't get any further.

    Thanks in advance,

Made my setting identical to your screen shots, tried sip.sipdiscount.com for both proxy and out bound proxy, tried sip.voipbuster.com for both proxy and out bound proxy, tried stun.voipbuster.com (proxy) and nat.voiptalk.org:5065 (outbound proxy). In all the settings the user without the credit worked fine and the user with the credit that I want working results on engage tone when I try placing any calls.

Went to Staples last night, they have a Vonage package for £29.99, but with Linksys RT31P2 which has a router built-in
    http://www1.linksys.com/products/product.asp?grid=34&prid=652

Went to Comet and managed to get the PAP2 at £19.99, already having a router, and not sure if the RT31P2 can be unlocked in the same way.
So now the hard work begins.

Just A Thought >> If you dont have a Router, and want to use VOIP, and dont really need WIRELESS in the house, its it better to buy something like the:

DrayTek Vigor 2100V Voice over IP (VoIP) Broadband Router >>£87.07<<
    OR
DrayTek Vigor 2100VG Voice over IP (VoIP) WIRELESS!! Router >>£97.51<<

    >>You get a router with Auto QoS so you can surf and talk
    >>You get a VOIP port for VOIP Calls

Anyone think of any downsides to this?
(By the way I have NTL broadband cable modem)

ONLY PROBLEM IS IT HAS ONE VOIP PORT, ANYONE KNOW OF ONE THAT HAS TWO?
