    I've found a new SIP provider - http://www.sipdiscount.com

It's another service from Finarea, and it's advertised as a "proper" SIP provider. Will be handy for new Voipbuster users who can't connect to their SIP server.

I've just connected successfully with their "test" login, though I can't make calls at the moment (getting an engaged tone). Will fiddle with the settings in a bit. - I think it might be the dial plan.

Very strange that they need you to dowmload a program to register, I'll be giving that a miss.

    Cheers, Des.

Doesn't voipbuster also require a download?
Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.

I've downloaded the SIPDiscount program and created an account but the username and password don't seem to have activated yet when I setup line 2 of my PAP2.

The SIP servers are exactly the same ones as for VoIPBuster.

They have a much larger selection of free destinations but we only use VoIP to call Spain so I'll be sticking with VoIPBuster for the time being.

    Thanks

    Gavin

A download of a softphone client, yes.

This is a download of a software registration program. ie, completely un-needed.

There must be a reason for them doing it this way, the only reason I can think of is adware/spyware.

    Cheers, Des.

Nah, it's just the way their system is currently setup. Finarea's whole VOIP operation is still under beta testing. Voipcheap.co.uk is another one. There's no ad/spyware in my sipdiscount.exe.

If you want an account I can setup one for you with a dummy email and password which you can change afterwards. Edit: actually I'm not sure if you can actually change user/pass yet but I can still set up an account for you if you want to play around with it ;) - though it's not currently working for new users as mentioned in my post below.

Yeah, it appears as if any new account created on voipbuster/voipcheap/sipdiscount cannot currently connect via SIP. Perhaps it takes a little time for accounts to be registered fully, or there is a system fault, or they are deliberately limiting accounts. More discussion here

Unlocked my papa2 in about 10mins this morning

took me 2hours to configure it all just for sipgate, but have finally done it using this page http://www.sipgate.co.uk/faq/index.php?aktion=anzeigen&type=devices&rubrik=701 in 60 seconds

I cant even loginto voipbuster softphone atm so i dont have a chance in hell of it working with the pap2

Its a real shame you dont seem to be able to have a different outbound and inbound service provider on the same line :(
