The other thing i have noticed is that when the other person speaks (even though i can't hear them) the blue light (either line 1 or 2 depending on which is being used) flashes as if to indicate that data is being recieved.

  • Thanks for all your help so far. Still having problems. The latest problem is that i can't log into the web interface anymore. This happenend after i saved some new settings. Since then it keeps timing out.
Any suggestions? Is it likely that it's reset and locked me out for good?

    Thanks,

    Mark.

No I don't think it has reset, the reset code is really obscure. Dial **** and then at the voice prompt dial 110#, the PAP2 will read out the I.P. address you need for the web browser address. Let us know what address it comes up with.

  • For some reason its changed to 0.0.0.0 when earlier tonight it was 10.0.0.9?

In the last 30 mins my router has also stopped responding when i call its web interface up.

A reboot of all your gear may resolve the problem. You should consider a fixed I.P. for the router and in turn it will allocate an I.P. to the PAP2.

I am going to guess your on XP (let me know if your are not). At start click run then type cmd. In the dos window type 'msconfig /all'. This should give you the I.P. address of your router if not try 'ipconfig /renew' and then 'msconfig /all' again.

  • Thanks for the info.
Using the command you gave it still says the router as at the same address it's always at (i guess it is static) but it still won't access it via the browser. I'll do as you advised and reboot/reset all the equipment.
    Cheers,

    Mark.

PS: Would it be a problem if i were to go through the unlocking procedure for the PAP2 again? I bought mine pre-done by someone else so didn't do it 1st time around.

It wouldn't hurt to go through unlock again but firstly I don't think that is the problem and secondly you need to know what you are doing. It's not that difficult and if you do it wrong you just start again.

One of the PAP2's I have was reading 0.0.0.0. yesterday but it wasn't because it needed unlocking again. I was playing around with a wireless ethernet bridge (Linksys WET11) and once I had reset everything the PAP2 was back to xxx.xxx.1.6

  • Thanks for the help Stabilo.
I solved the pap2's ip problem by using **** 73738# and 1 to confirm. It now has an IP assigned to it.
However, when i try enter the admin page it asks for a user name & password. I don't remember it asking for these before. Was there a way of disabling them?

    Many thanks,

    Mark.
