Unlocking a £20 Linksys PAP2 VoIP adapter

VoIPBuster and SIPDiscount use the same servers - the names are aliased.
If you use your VoIPBuster username and password, the call will be treated just the same as if the PAP2 was setup for VoIPBuster.
If your username and password are the same for SIPDiscount as VoIPBuster, it is possible that the servers have not updated yet - although when I registered for SIPDiscount, it wouldn't let me use the same username...
If you want free UK calls you need to use a SIPDiscount username and password and credit the account with 5 euros.
Thanks

I got my to work dave on pap2 and sipdiscount have you put the stun server within the stun section of the pap2 part.0

Can anyone help me please ! - I've signed upto Sipdiscount, added a credit to my account - but when I use the sipdiscount line (via my PAP2) I don't get any sound through the earpeice - but I get oneway sound - the other way.
I don't have any other VoIP router 'in the way', I think it must be a setting on my PAP2 - but not sure which one.
Any guidance greatfully received.

You said, no “VoIP router”. Do you have any router in the way? If there’s a NAT router in the way, you’re going to have to get it to forward the necessary ports. If there’s a router with a firewall performing stateful packet inspection (SPI), that can also cause your problem.古池や蛙飛込む水の音0

Star1 - if you look at other threads you will see that defining a small range of RTP ports (on the 'SIP' page in advanced view on the PAP2 config) and then on your router forwarding those UDP ports to the IP address of your PAP2 will fix this problem.0

to Star, put the STUN.sipdiscount.com in the stun field section of the PAP2 and to be double sure put it in the DMZ of the router. I had the same problem of they could hear me but I can't hear them until I put the STUN part. If you want Star, contact me privately I can take snapshots of my settings which you can adjust to be the same as yours. Hopefully it will be sorted out.0

Thanks for everyones suggestions - I eventually got it all working in the early hours this morning. Issues seamed to centre around the lack of STUN statement in the SIP settings on the PAP2. As soon as I put this in things worked !
The next thing I'm contemplating doing is to create an Astrix server with incomming DDI's from Sipgate then with an X100 card connected to a PSTN set up a call routing table to choose to send calls via SipDiscount, 1899 or even Telewest (my provider).
The only issue I have with SipDiscount - is the emmence amount of time it takes to connect a call.... is this normal?
Thanks again0 -
If you can't get around the STUN issue, you can forget about using asterisk.
If you have a dynamic IP, just give up now

Des, can't he use one of those dynamic IP systems that give you a static address? Like TZOEDIT for example? Also star1, esp since you are going to buy the X100 card maybe a Sipura 3000 will do what you rather at a cheaper cost with less hassle. Can sell the PAP2 than or keep it. If want to sell I can buy it off you since my wife mum after hearing about SIPDISCOUNT want one in Italy.0
