    iceburn,

I dont think a dyndns service will help on the asterisk front.

Asterisk doesn't support STUN, and needs the external ip from your isp, I don't think it will work with a dyndns provider, although I will check. (When I say asterisk won't work, I mean it will break if your ip changes)

Your advice on the SPA3000 is good, as there are issues with the clone x100 cards, and even with the digium cards.

The only problem is the cost :/ I am hoping linksys/cisco will produce a version of the spa3000 in the future.

    Cheers, Des.

*** Sorry for posting a little to early ***

My fault - I was attempting to TFTP the file from the incorrect IP address, My DHCP had re-issued another address to the TFTP server - Now all working !! :-) !!!!

Just trying to get a PAP2 working for a friend (it was from Comet in a sealed box) - the manufacture date is the same as my working PAP2....

BUT when I try to unlock it - things fail when I try to enter the admin option. The PAP2 keeps asking for a username and password.

I know I should know what I'm doing as I've sucessfully installed/unlocked two of these units. It does'nt appear to have been tampered with (the box was sealed before I opened it), and it does not look like its registered on Vonage and all FW revisions are the same as my working PAP2.

Please help - does anyone know what the password could be? or what might be going on?

    Thanks

Can someone provide a definitive list of step by step instructions for Dummies please, to unlock this product successfully, PLEASE! I realise there are loads of forums that tell you what to do, but very confusing on versions, downloads and techniques.

Rumour has it the new units are not unlockable like the older units, is this true?

Amazon is selling them for £19.99, and broadbandbuyer is getting stock later this months..

    Anybody tried to unlock recently?

    Hi,

I got a PAP2 which works perfectly in the UK. I sent it back to my country and used it there. My brother used it well for a couple of months with a voipbuster account.

Recently, when voipbuster started charging for calls to the US and UK, I registered an account with sipdiscount. I can use it with my PAP2 in the UK, but not the PAP2 which my brother uses in my country. The blue light on the PAP2 is steady (i.e. connected), but whenever my brother rings any phone number in the UK or the US, it always gets the engaged tone.

When I used the same sipdiscount setting for my PAP2 here (i.e. in the UK), it works fine.

If my brother changed the settings back to voipbuster, it worked fine.

Anyone knows what the problem is? and how to sort it out?

    Thanks,
    SV
PS. The PAP2s are put in DMZ of the routers.

    Fab news :j

I just received my PAP2 from Amazon today (£20 inc delivery) the firmware is 3.1.3LSc, which means it IS possible to unlock. Use the excellent guide here
Read the guide carefully (+ the summary in a seperate thread) and it is very straighforward.
