Unlocking a £20 Linksys PAP2 VoIP adapter

I've sucessfully had Sipgate working on the PAP2, and thought I would Try SipDiscount .... it seams to work ok calling UK numbers (providing you use the long format eg. 0044 208 xxx xxxx. But when I try calling the other "free" destinations (USA, Switzerland etc), the call rings but then after a split second goes dead (after hearing a voice etc).
Can anyone help? is it because I have no credit?
Thanks

I would look at the range of RTP ports you have defined on the SIP screen of the PAP2 and change them as they may clash with the TA612V ?
The other thing is to configure port forwarding on your router for the range of RTP ports defined.
If you have no credit, the call should apparently cut off after one minute rather than immediately.
Thanks

Once the unit is unlocked as described on here, does the unit revert to its locked state if the power is disconected from the PAP2 for 5 minutes or so?
ALSO
On another unit the PAP2 is unlocked and working fine, then I upgraded to the 3.1.6 firmware. Now I have no dial tone. Any ideas?0 -

The unit will not reset when the power is disconnected. The unit doesn't even have a reset switch. You have to enter a 5 or 6 digit code into the device to reset to factory default.
Can't help with missing dial tone. Where did you get 3.1.6 firmware and what features does it have? Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -
Not sure of the features but you can download it from here:

I suspect that any firmware from Vonage will re-lock the unit....and will be harder to unlock again if it is possible at all.
You will need to check the original thread on DSLReports to see if and how anyone has managed to unlock a PAP2 flashed with Vonage 3.1.6 firmware.
Thanks

Certainly not worth the risk if your device is working and we don't know what 3.1.6 offers. Has anyone used Vonage's 3.1.6 and still have an unlocked PAP2?Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -
I have been using it for the last 24 hours with no problem. I also have the dial tone back now, my mistake i had the DHCP turned off.0

notice a "VONAGE" hence cause it was "unoffically" unlock and you put a lock version it freeze it up.0
