Oh, now I totally understand
Thanks for the info.
(because I always see phones which has a female RJ11 socket)0 -
I ordered 2 of these this morning, but my order status says awaiting stock! The website still says in stock, grrrr.
Not happy, I had assumed BBB was a reputable company
Cheers, Des.0 -
I think BT socket or BT plug is the proper name? (if it isn't, it should be!)
I also have a Grandstream ATA486 and experimented with several different phones when I set that up about a year ago. Using a RJ11 to RJ11 cable - some work, some don't unfortunately - I think the issue is the internal wiring configuration. The ratio is (very) roughly 50/50 in my limited testing.
I also experienced problems with some phones connected directly with ringing when called - you will find most(all?) of the BT socket to RJ11 adapters have an internal capacitor to deal with this.
BTW I've just had a phone call from Comet advising that the single unit I ordered from their web site (before driving down to their store) is "unavailable due to being let down by their supplier" and to call back to order a different item or arrange a refund...
Thanks

Good point.
svkhtn, just to confirm your phones might not ring without the adapters. Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -
I remember that a while ago one of my friends bought a DECT phone from UK and brought it back to his country (where they use RJ11 sockets). He plugged the phone in using RJ11-RJ11 but it was not ringing when receiving calls. After that, he asked a shop to re-wire so that it can ring.0

I will do some tests with leads tonight & post the results to go with gavinp's 50% success rate (or as the wife would say 50% failure rate :rotfl: )Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -
As far as I know it really depends on the type of phone you are using. For example, in my friend's case, the panasonic and philips worked fine, but not the BT or binatone (some models). I think it depends on the way they wired the ringing bell in the phone.0

Hi Des
I'm pleased to say we do have stock. Our system is based on real-time serial numbers.
Reason for this post is I would just like to clarify the following
I going to kick the web designers because they still haven’t changed the waiting stock to waiting stock allocation
The PAP2's were put temporarily on hold while we performed an internal investigation on our contract with Vonage. We needed to clarify the price support
On a good note - your order will be dispatched out today on the basis your connecting up to vonage. Its up to you what you do with your hardware, they do make funky paperweights
Any questions, please dont hesitate to contact me.
Regards

Hi Stabilo
Thank you for pointing this out - our package contents has been corrected. The vonage package does include 2 x USA/BT adapters.0
