(I will make sure I don't disconnect it, until it is unlocked) - Thanks for pointing this out.
Thanks

I think you mean CONNECTBefore you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -

I will guess an incorrect user name and password?
i changed so many things...so not sure what really solved it .
..but the main thing was removing the dns entries
which i did have blank to begin with
so that solved it (about 6 hours later:)0 -
DTMF fixed
Line 1 with Voipbuster worked fine with DTMF Tx Method set to auto.
Line 2 with Sipgate doesn't like auto or AVT. InBand and INFO are ok though.
DTMF Tx Method is located towars the bottom of each line setting under Audio configuration. Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -

This got me for a while as well- I would recommend setting the first DNS server entry to the address of your ADSL or broadband router and leaving the second one blank.
The DNS server entries are used to resolve the address of the SIP server, proxy. STUN server etc so nothing works if the entries are left pointing to Vonage's (non-responsive) DNS servers.
Pointing the DNS to your local router will work OK if you use a static or DHCP address for the PAP2.
Thanks

I haven't set any DNS servers, just removed Vonage. Do you suggest internal or external address of ADSL router? I use dyndns.org to obtain 'static' external IP.
Thanks for confirmation on the DTMF, InBand is working ok but I will change to INFO.Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -
Hi All
Broadbandbuyer have the Linksys PAP2 Phone Adapters in stock (I've just bought one this morning).
Incidentally, no one has mentioned about non-geographical/premium numbers... can you make them through this solution, and what's the cost? Presumably it's taken from your VOIPBuster account?
Has anyone completely given up using their normal PSTN line and now rely totally on VOIP? How long have you been doing this, and have there been any problems?
Cheers

Voipbuster do not provide a dial in number & do not present Caller ID so 1899.com can't be used.
Sipgate provide both and can be used with 1899.com's 020XX access number. Approx 1p per min to Sipgate and say 3p per minute to 1899.com for calls to mobiles at weekends (1p +10p during the week). 0845 & 0870 would be 1p plus 3p and 1p plus 7p respectively.
You can use voipbuster to dial mobiles and 08X numbers but their rates are higher than 1899.
It is a bit cheaper from a landline plus 1899 to none geographical numbers compared with VOIP plus 1899 but not much (saves the 1p/min Sipgate cost).
Now I have DTMF sorted out I don't use the landline at all (only been a few days though). I 'rent out' my landline to relatives for DIAL IN internet access. Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0
