It's taken you a while but you have your first thanks. I have found the MSE lot to be very Scrooge like with their thanks.

You are welcome. After a bit of fiddling, i've got it working with sipgate, and voipbuster. Both are on seperate lines. I wonder if there is any Lowest Cost Routing (LCR) provision in these units. There isn't much of a manual that came with it.

I have a feeling I may need to install asterisk to get that kind of functionality.

Overall though, i'm fairly impressed with the unit - I could recommend it to anyone. It is just a pity it was not the equivalent of the Sipura-3000!

I can get the sipgate configured from voxilla's wizard. Could you post or PM the VOIPBUSTER settings? Are you using 2 phones or have you diverted one to the other (I have a link for this from gavinp if you are interested)?

Set up as two phones, but only one phone connected at the moment. I'd be interested in how to forward from one to the other.

For sipgate (i've connected the device behind a Linksys WRT54g router and the device is not in the DMZ):

    In the Sip menu (advanced):

Handle VIA received: yes Handle VIA rport: yes
Insert VIA received: yes Insert VIA rport: yes
Substitute VIA Addr: yes Send Resp To Src Port: yes
STUN Enable: yes STUN Test Enable: yes
STUN Server: stun.sipgate.net:10000 EXT IP: <external IP of your router>
EXT RTP Port Min: blank NAT Keep Alive Intvl: 15

In the Line 1 (or 2) menu - advanced:

NAT Mapping Enable: yes NAT Keep Alive Enable: yes

Proxy: sipgate.co.uk Use Outbound Proxy: yes
Outbound Proxy: sipgate.go.uk Use OB Proxy In Dialog: yes
Register: yes Make Call Without Reg:

subscriber info - enter your usual subscriber data

That's about it I think... I did a fair bid of fiddling around there, but those were the main settings I used.

    aris,

Thanks for the Sipgate settings, Just realised it's the voipbuster settings I need, can you oblige?

http://www.broadbandreports.com/forum/remark,13657675 post #5 has details of using one phone for the 2 lines (Sipura 2000 is very similar to PAP2).

Yes, sure. I just did some testing, and it would appear that the PAP2 needs to bein the routers DMZ to work - i'll see if I can get around this if possible.

My voipbuster are the same as above, except I setup these settings:

    Proxy: sip.voipbuster.com
    Outbound Proxy: sip.voipbuster.com

External IP settings of the router (I have the same as you). My ISP doesn't allocate fixed IP. I am set up with dyndns.org, could I put in myusername.dyndns.org or will it need a specific IP address? If it needs specific IP what is the fix?

My ISP (NTL) gives a static address (well, it's dynamically allocated via DHCP, but hasn't changed in two years). I don't know about the dynamic IP - but certainly give the FQDN a try and see what happens. The PAP2 does appear to have DNS settings, so it must have a resolver.

I also have a WRT54G and I just forwarded the port used for each line (e.g. 5060 and 5061) to the IP address of the PAP2 and it seems to work fine.

I also setup QoS using the MAC address of the PAP2.

    Thanks

    Gavin

My Linksys router is actually an AG241. It doesn't allow QoS against MAC. I have set QoS for port 5060, 5061 and http (as web browsing was getting a bit slow). I manually configured line 2 to Sipgate with help from you and aris. Then used the wizard at Voxilla to configure line 2 ALSO to Sipgate. Both lines appear to work fine and early tests indicate very good line quality.

Will now try Voipbuster on line 1 and then divert / forward line 2 to line 1 so my 4 cordless phones accept incoming & outgoing calls (again from your link to Sipura tips).

Thanks for all your help, and yours aris.

Thinking of visiting all the local Comet stores today.
