Just unlocked the one I got earlier today. It does work but remember to add hyphens to the file names. Just need to configure voipbuster & sipgate now.

What version of firmware did yours have when you first got it? Mine has 2.0.13 - will it work?

The files in the download are called:

    PAP2SP2K.bin
    SP2KPAP2.bin

Looking at the tftp logs, it appears to be looking for a file called 'spa.bin'

Doing a string on the binaries, one appears to be the Linksys version of firmware 2.0.9 and the other appears to be the Sipura firmware - 1.0.3. Which one should I rename to spa.bin - or am I getting everything wrong here? :-)

Ok, i got a bit further, but still having problems.

When I first load AP2-SP2K.bin, I get the sipura firmware - but no 'provisioning' tab or option anywhere.

Ignoring this, I load the second file, which takes me to a Linksys firmware version 3.1.3(LS) - but I'm unable to enter the admin menu.

Any ideas here? Am I doing something wrong?

You are correct Sipura firmware then Linksys. Have a good look around. Did you set the original password to 1234 (before the Sipura upload)?

I am sure we have identical kit. Let me know if you can't sort it and I will try mine again. If I remember rightly one step did take a bit of thought, the author was a bit vague on one of the steps.

Right folks - I think I have it. A few steps missed out in the original instructions. Hopefully this will help someone:

Assumption that 192.168.1.5 is the IP of your TFTP server
Assumption that 192.168.1.110 is the IP of your PAP2

    1. Unrar and Unzip the two files in the TFTP root folder.
    2. Disconnect from the Internet (avoids downloading cfg files)
    3. Boot your PAP2 in your network.
    4. Browse to the web page of the PAP2.
    5. In SYSTEM, set a User password of 1234
    6. Click the SAVE SETTINGS button.
    7. Refresh the link (you login with user and 1234)
    8. modify the link to show (http)
    » 192.168.1.5/upgrade?tftp://192.168.1.110/PAP2SP2K.bin
    9. Examine the status leds.. Power should turn RED when it is done.
Give it a minute or two, dont interrupt it.
    10. Once red, point browser at your PAP2. (our IP in this example is 192.168.1.5)
    11. Click the "admin login" link near the top-right and click on Advanced in the top right.
    12. Click the PROVISIONING tab and set PROVISION ENABLE=NO.
    13. Click SAVE SETTINGS.
    14. Now, modify the link to show (http)
    »192.168.1.5/upgrade?tftp://192.168.1.110/SP2KPAP2.bin
    15. Done. Your Linksys PAP2 will eventually reboot (2 blue LEDs) (BE PATIENT)
and you can click the "admin login" near the top-right. No PW needed.

    aris,

I can't see any difference from the original post. Please indicate what you have added.

Filenames match what was linked to in a previous post, also you need to click on 'advanced' in step 11.
