Unlocking a £20 Linksys PAP2 VoIP adapter

Charlie12: Once unlocked, the PAP2 won't try to download new firmware from Vonage. The part of the instructions where you disable the provisioning stops this happening.
DesG: Sorry about the wasted trip to Maplin - I would email BBB and ask them when they are going to get some more in stock or order one and see what happens ?
I'll amend the first post to remove Maplin as a source - I used this article to try and identify where they could be purchased:

Thanks

I want it for incoming calls from sipgate, I have so many mobile minutes, I don't need to make any chargeable calls, even international
I was looking at the Sipura jobbies, but at £20 I would love a few of these
I wonder how long before they patch them so you can't unlock them

Not your problem, I saw the reg article too when searching, seemed worth a shotgavinp wrote:I would email BBB and ask them when they are going to get some more in stock or order one and see what happens ?
The only thing that would worry me, is if it is fresh stock, Vonage may have been able to disable the unlocking
I'm just gonna have to keep my eyes out or try and find someone on the mainland to order them for me and re-ship them, but that is just a waste

Des,
Reading the bottom of the Broadbandreports thread (page 6), someone has posted instructions on how to remove the password for firmware updates anyhow - it just adds more steps to the process for creating a temporary local DNS server.
Thanks

you can get them for £20 from ebay.com
the pap2's are $20 and shipping is the same0 -
The files are still available on these links for the time being - anyone who can mirror them , I'm sure it would be appreciated:

deave1986: Thanks for that I'll check out ebay USA, I had already checked UK.
gavinp: I downloaded them and copied the instructions, so if they 'disappear' I can oblige.
I had a look at comet again, and it looks like I can pay for them myself with my CC as long as I have a delivery address on the mainland. I just want to confirm it with them.
