About the quality of phonecalls, is it much better than the normal mic/headsets ?

    Thanks!

If I manage to get one of these mailorder/in a store, can they all be unlocked, or just earlier versions ??

    Thanks in advance,

    Daniel

Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.

The models in the shop now should all be available for unlock. Ensure you unlock with ADSL disconnected or Vonage will permanently lock the PAP2.

Once unlocked NEVER reset the device whilst online or you will have the same problem.

What about mail order ones ?

(I will make sure I don't disconnect it, until it is unlocked) - Thanks for pointing this out.

    Thanks

MUCH better and more convenient. The call quality is generally excellent as the call is not burdened by poor PC performance (hard disk cacheing etc). PC can be switched off and cordless phones work fine.

PAP2 as the name suggests has 2 telephone ports.

I am experiencing DTMF problems with VOIP though, anyone got a fix?

Mail order 'should' also be ok, where from in particular?

    Broadbandbuyer have some in stock.

More expensive though - £26.68 incl delivery & VAT.

If you receive them in the near future (say days) I expect them to be ok, after that the risk is higher.

The pack contents for the broadbandbuyer units don't mention the 2 off RJ11 to RJ45 connectors. The Comet kit includes them, they are £2 each.

Broadbandbuyer do have a nice looking wireless unlocked 2 phone port router (WRT54GP2) for £80.
