Thank you for pointing this out - our package contents has been corrected. The vonage package does include 2 x USA/BT adapters.
Nice to have you onboard, will you be price matching with broadbandstuff.co.uk i.e. the WRT54GP2?Before you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -

I'm pleased to say we do have stock. Our system is based on real-time serial numbers.
Thats great news, thanks Giles!Broadbandbuyer wrote:
The PAP2's were put temporarily on hold while we performed an internal investigation on our contract with Vonage. We needed to clarify the price support
I was wondering if that was the caseBroadbandbuyer wrote:On a good note - your order will be dispatched out today on the basis your connecting up to vonage. Its up to you what you do with your hardware, they do make funky paperweights
I am of course intending to connect up with Vonage, unless I find I don't like something in their terms when I review them

By way of a recap on this for the technologically challenged !
How likely is is that we will be able to actually unlock one of these and use it for voipbuster ?
Assuming that we can cope with the various forms of male and female RJ plugs and sockets and can get the hardware correctly set up, what then do we have to do ??
I have a broadband connection with a static IP address and a Linksys ADSL modem/router with ethernet and wireless output. Beyond that I am not really sure about my settings, etc. I know nothing about ports, DMZ (is that the right acronym ?), dialstrings and the rest.
Would someone be prepared to take the trouble to set out the unlocking process in words of one sylable. If so i would be very grateful !!0 -
The unlocking just removes the Vonage only aspect. After unlocking, you have a Linksys Pap2. (Not 100% but near enough)
There are much better places to get help on setting a pap2 up with your voip provider.
Check the voipbuster site and see if they have any tuorials on setup? If you get stuck at any stage and start a new thread on here, I'm sure someone will be able to help.

Just had a look at voipbuster, and it is a softphone thingy. I had assumed it was a standard Sip provider.
If you google for voipbuster and pap2 you get a lot of hits which will probably give you all the info you need. Or at least, more info than you have now

Unlocking would be a definite start. Can someone kindly explain THAT for the untutored novice ?0 -

To be honest, if you don't understand what to do from reading this thread and the unlocking thread, you would probably be better off paying the extra £20 to get an unlocked one from broadbandbuyer.
It is not really designed for the untutored novice, if you want to go for it, then I for one will try and help you out, but I can't help thinking that you may screw it up and end up wasting £20 rather than saving £20

I would agree with Des on this - I have been working in I.T. Technical Support for over sixteen years and this really is the most complicated device I have ever encountered... one page has over 130 different settings on it !
Most of the settings you'll never change but I gulped when I saw it!
The unlocking process is not particularly difficult but does require strong networking knowledge. Once unlocked, it then needs to be configured which is where the fun really starts...
There is a web site here which gives the settings for most VoIP companies:
http://voxilla.com/pap2config.php
DO NOT reset the unit to factory defaults as it will re-lock the unit.
I would recommend you set the PAP2 up with Sipgate first to confirm it is working before trying VoIPBuster.
Unless you are confident in your I.T. knowledge and up for a challenge, I wouldn't recommend it.
Thanks
