  • With regards the 6 days, it does state the first transfer can take up to 8 working days, so be patient and see what happens later this week.

Call me over-curious if you like - but why did you request a transfer when you didn't have the funds to honour it?

Ahh in my haste I didnt see that, thanks.

Also I notice instead of my "My Name on account - Account number" for my linked account is says "Account number - Account number".

I hope Nationwide wont reject the DD request, as I would expect it to be done with My Name on account and then number.

    Hmm.. We shall see.

Dont worry. I know it seems odd but that's how mine is listed aswell, and no problems with it to date, hope I'm not tempting fate now!

Has anyone had any problems applying online. On the final page of the application I get the following error:
    "
    BANKAWAY APPLICATION ERROR !!

Last request could not be processed due to an error condition. If you are not able to continue with this System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Session, Click here to login again.
    "
I have retried today on two different computers but still no success? I emailed Icici this morning but haven't had a reply.

The first is, they don't answer any of my emails, asking why they have set up multiple direct debits on my Nationwide account.

As I posted above - Multiple Direct Debits have been set up on my linked account also my linked account says Account Number - Account Number.

I contacted ICICI Bank C/S and was informed that their setup was correct.

With regard to multiple DD's, I assume ICICI use one when sending money to your linked account and one when collecting money from it.

All set up and working. No problems at all.
Took less time than your average credit card application.

LOL these guys are quite frankly, muppets.

After 9 working days, still nothing. I get an Email this morning:

"We would like to inform you that there was a technical problem thats why the transfer was not execued. Please be assured we have executed your transfer again."

LOL dear me, well I am glad my money is safe with these guys. I am not sure I will trust them with anymore than £100. What happens when I need to get the cash out and "oh we have technical faults".

    :D

Three days after activation, the account is now holding and earning interest on a couple of 0% balance transfers. No problems at all.
Without generalising, I think there is a lot to be said for making the application and then just sit back and wait to see what happens.
Yes I've noticed there are two direct debits set up, not one; so what?
No worse than any other bank and significantly less paperwork.
    Give them a chance.
