I must say I have experienced less trouble and faster tournaround with my ICICI account than with my Cahoot Bonus Saver. It appears I am in good company when it comes to ICICI - looking at the poll results above, the majority of the account holders who responded said they are happy (as happy as you can get with a bank)
Neither the Cahoot nor ICICI problems I experienced cause me to loose any sleep - top customer service and top interest rates don't seem to go hand in hand. I'll live, reluctantly, with a reduced level of customer service if I get the better interest rates.0 -
This quest of chasing the best injterest rates must always be tempered with the time that it takes to transfer money into and out of accounts . Also with the reliability of the number of days it takes to move money . My experience of ICICI is that it could cost you dearly as it took ICICI 15 days to close my account , and nearly as long to move money beforehand , so I could not plan my finances as I can with other banks paying slightly less interest . Security and reliability are worth so much .0

48.52% - think ICICI bank are not OK/Just applied and have no opinion.
Like you, we were attracted by ICICI's interest rate and with the reported improvement in application processing and Customer Service, decided to take the plunge. Our experience of ICICI bank has not been the same as yours. With the poll evenly split, it's debateable as to who's experience is the more common.
Another consideration is the amount of your investment. We have a varied portfolio but tend to move what we consider to be larger sums in and out of accounts. Therefore a smooth application process and a quick transfer of funds [preferably by CHAPS] is essential. With only £35,000 of your investment protected [100% 1st £2000, 90% next £33,000] at this moment in time ICICI bank do not meet my investment criteria nor do their actions to date instil investor confidence.
I will leave our accounts in abeyance and monitor ICICI bank's future activities with interest.Do It To Them Before They Do It To You

Applied yeserday; received confrimation email today.
I've sent a one pound cheque initially and I'll take it from there. Will possibly deposit £100, then withdraw it. If that runs smoothly I'll be more confident.Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0 -
Opened an ICICI savings account.........smooth & quick...so far so good0

It’s been two working days since speaking to ICICI bank, C/S and no contact from any ICICI bank official.
Yesterday [10th November] I received an email which contained my CIF code.
No email for my wife’s account to date.
Yesterday I received an email confirming that ICICI bank had set up two Direct Debits to our linked bank account. They do not say if that is one for my wife’s account and one for mine or two for me, so my original question remains unanswered: Why have four Direct Debits been set up? Two in my wife’s name and two in mine.
I used my CIF/Passcode to check my online banking profile and discovered that my linked bank account details were incorrect and cannot be amended. One work around which I’ve not tried is to nominate another account to link to, then enter your original details. Guess another chat with ICICI’s C/S is required.

Well for once, someone up there is looking after me and my ICICI account; including the extra days interest before the transfers actually leave my linked account!0

I don't believe it. These muppets have screwed me big time.
I requested a transfer 3k from my current account which I duly cancelled online. They didn't honour the cancellation request. This led to my current account being 1,500 in the red. I have NEVER had this happen to be more. Now, I have to explain to LloydsTSB that this was their fault and that they shouldn't have let the payment go through. I sent ICICI an email last night fearing this would happen (I noticed by ICICI balance shoot up unexpectedly). I have since tried to "return" the money from my ICICI account and it says another three days to transfer back again!!! Now I have to face charges for going over my overdraft which I have NEVER had to use before.

Has anyone got any advice as to what I should do and where I stand legally? I can only think of going to a small claims court now and show these muppets where to go.0 -
Well its been a nightmare for me, the account is now up and running. I dare not use my Nationwide account to push money into this account for a number of reasons.
The first is, they don't answer any of my emails, asking why they have set up multiple direct debits on my Nationwide account.
Also I tried using their system to draw money from Nationwide and after 6 days the transfer is still processing, and no email enquiry is answered when I ask what's going on with it.
Total waste of space so far. I don't think I will be trusting these people with any sizeable amount of my savings.
