I have just spoken to customer services and the £1 cheque has to be on a personal cheque not on a bank drawn cheque. Therefore I have just applied using my A&L account as the linked account.

Can't you do a BACS transfer from your cuurent account to your ICIC account

You will have received an email with the ICIC sort code 30-00-81 and your account no and log-in id no. Therefore no need to wait for password to access your ICIC account.
  • Hi there all.

I just decided to give ICICI a try and went to apply and didn't like that fact they are asking for my employer's name and address. Why would they need this?

Has anyone spoken to them about this? I notice if you set the employment status box to "Others", you don't have to fill it in, but that's not strictly true is it?

    Thanks

Given I dont have an employer it made no difference to me but I guess its as an alternate reference if they need one !

I find it takes 4 days to be credited into my account but I tend to pull it in using my ICICI account and it remains in my other account until the transation takes place.

In my experience, a lot of financial instituations ask whether you are employed or not, and who is your employer. I've had that from the obvious people (credit cards, loans, current accounts etc who have the obvious right to know) and savings account providers, amongst others. I just give the information, I don't know why they need it, but I also don't know why lots of other information is asked for, I just give it!
