I recently applied to vodafone for a Pay as you go Mobile Broadband USB stick. I received an e-mail confirming my order. 2 days later I received another e-mail saying they are unable to proceed with my order for security reasons and unable to discuss this further. I am concerned about the reason for refusal i.e. "security reasons"
Anybody else had problems getting one!0 -
Cant help you on the security issue, maybe a card issue?
You can buy one at PC world.
I got mine from Vodaphone had I known PC world sold them I would have gone to my local store.Know the difference between what you WANT and what you NEED. :T0 -
I am stunned by the utter incompetence and indifference of Vodafone's customer service operation.
I have a mobile broadband dongle. It was paid for on monthly direct debit from my bank account. In December last year I changed bank. All my direct debit instructions were passed on to the appropriate parties – I have documentation which proves that everyone on my direct debit list was notified of my new banking details including Vodafone. There is no room for doubt on that – Vodafone was informed.
Everyone on that list – utilities firms, mortgage companies etc - has updated the information except Vodafone.
When I contacted the call centre to query this, I got a rude woman answering the phone who just didn't want to know and who told me airily: “Oh, we don't talk to banks!” She then proceeded to tell me I'd be charged hundreds of pounds if I tried to default on the contract -which I had no intention of doing. I had after all called to inform them of the problem which was of their own making.
I then posted a complaint via their own eforum in January.
Since then I have had 11 email messages asking what my complaint is, despite it being documented in my email .When I reply to these emails, a different person then emails back saying they don't understand my email and I need to explain what my complaint is.
On one occasion, I managed to get a promise that someone will call. One person did and left a voicemail... advising me to call the call centre. They left no direct contact details. I asked for a return call from customer services – no reply
I've emailed my phone contact details over 7 times! But Vodafone – a telephony firm!!!! - can't it seems make a call back to a customer!
Instead you get more stupid emails. More 'we don't understand' and 'we can't access your previous emails' . What is the point of an email system if you can't produce an audit trail of correspondence and have a single view of customer interaction!?!?!?
I've had my broadband cut off twice for non-payment and then reinstated when I've kicked up a fuss, but still no-one will update my ruddy direct debit details or provide any form of explanation why this has happened. As for an apology, I can sing for that no doubt!
Today I've had another snotty letter from them saying I owe unpaid line rental.
I'll tell them why I'm in arrears. I'm in arrears because of the cretinous level of customer service offered by Vodafone and because Vodafone “don't talk to banks” and because Vodafone can't do what 12 other companies on my banking direct debit list could do and update their records with my new banking details!
If ANYONE at Vodafone with a brain and an ounce of initiative reads this, phone me as I have been promised and do something about this.
And if anyone's reading this and thinking of signing up with Vodafone, take my advice: DON'T!!!!!0 -
VF's CS used to be second to none, it has gone downhill recently. The last time I called I spoke to a girl who made it obvious she really didn't give a cr*p. Can't wait to stick my fingers up at Vodafone, roll on Decemeber!0

Hello!
Me and DH were with Vodaphone 5 years as a couple, and him on his own for 3 years previous to that. But they were appalling over the last 2 years  , we have now left them and are on PAYG Orange Dolphin :j . Amazing, and so much less stress!!! NO GO with Vodaphone anymore.
But yes, we had to wait until the contract was up (the 18 month contract that we HAD NOT agreed to!), before we could cancel it...
Keeley xx42'300 in debt Jan 08

Wouldnt touch them with a barge pole. Had no end of problems which I ended up with a £38 default for and that was over 4 years ago.
FAT CAT is all they think about.0 -
I have mobile contract with them. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Just waiting for the end of the contract.
3 months in a row they didn't collect the DD, though online account showed all my correct bank details and the customer service repeatedly reassured me the next bill will be collected by DD. I always rang them to say they haven't collected it and paid with card. They blamed the bank and charged me for not paying by DD. I didn't raise this charge with them as I was worried they may mess up something else !0
