Yes, its people like the OP who dont pay there parking fines who put ARE taxs up - you broke the law, pay the fine stop complaing, I got a parking ticket, 5 in 1 month last december, I paid them in FULL within 1 week, pay up, maybe then you wont do the same again.
I would love to park outside my house, I cant, but I dont act silly getting fines I know I will have to pay.
If taxs go up next year I know why!
i think thats a bit of a contradiction there love :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Little Miss Sparkles :A

Parking fines are a means of generating revenue for council services, necessary because central government continually cuts funding for councils, and imposes caps on what local councils may charge residents.
If you want to pay all parking fines without question then that's up to you, but don't try and embarrass others who have the wherewithal to first look into their legal rights.
If we are expected to follow the law, then so should the law-makers. It's our duty to ensure that they do.0 -
Advice
Appealing Wont Get You Anywhere - All Councils Now Photo Every Car That Committs An Offence Under The Road Traffic Act And If You Committed The Offence You Are Liable, It Wont Even Get Far As A Court Hearing, The Road Traffic Office Will Look At Your File, See The Picture And Dis Miss The Appeal.
Capital letters are for use at the beginning of every sentence, not every word. I doubt you actually know anything about the council, and parking laws, and indeed if you are even old enough to drive, since the grammar in this paragraph is sooooooo wrong :rolleyes:Little Miss Sparkles :A

But it is up to the owner of the car to look at the signs and follow them. Given the OP lives there and knows the restrictions inside out, you would expect them to park within the rules. It's cheaper to park in the next street where you can legally park, and walk 50 yards.
There have been cases of councils not following rules recently in the news, things like road markings not following regulations can lead to successful appeals - but I doubt an appeal on the basis of I live there and I have asthma will do much good. Ideally there should be some sort of resident permit system operated in the street where the OP can legally park - then the council can fine the people who work at the bank etc instead - but unfortunately because the street is outside yout house doesn't mean you have a legal right to park there.
Probably easier to pay up and get together with other people living in the same area who own cars and try get some action taken to get a permit system in place.0 -
thanks for that, some good advice there.
I am not trying to take the mick out of the parking rules, and every day I either park in the space where parking is allowed or else drive up and down up and down my street until someone moves. I was 10 mins over the hour, on my first parking tick, and today my children were ill and I could not have possibly taken them out of the house, and I could not leave them in the house unsupervised either
Its not like I am trying to pull a fast one to get out of paying and just parking there anyway.
I have lived here for 5 and a half years and the first parking ticket I received was last week.Little Miss Sparkles :A

i go to the gym four times a week, so my lung capacity is absolutley fine thank you :T
my daughter also attends gymnastics, and other activities so the last time we had a docs app, she was absolutley fine too thank you :T
Glad to hear you're both ok, just a tiny bit confused about your original reference to asthma in your opening post if it doesn't effect the distance you need to park away from your home?0 -
OP you need to face upto the fact that you have committed a road traffic offence!!!
You are the one acting like a child so dont you dare insult me, your the stupid one parking, oh not once but TWICE somewhere you know your not meant too.
What makes you so special??!
Because you have asthma?! Lots of people have asthma, doesnt mean they can commit a road traffic offence!
You need to stop acting so childish, pay your parking fines, if I knew the council that had issued it (which your lucky I dont) I would copy your thread to them, so they could see you admit to your offence!
Pay your fine like everyone else has too.
And on a final point, I happen to know alot more about councils than most!

i would pay up, you parked there when you shouldnt have. I assume there was the same parking arrangement when you got the flat?
If your daughters astma is that bad that you have to drive them to school i would apply for a disablity badge which might help you find a parking space closer to home
How far is the school (not in driving minutes, but in walking minutes)0 -
