I think it is getting a bit sharper around here but then I agree we are moving to stage 2 - anger as far as the market is concerned.
I am chuckling at the fact that the Mogadon Users Knitting Circle has invoked Godwin's Law by page 2.
I really think some people should either get out more and/or explore the internet a bit further than MSE.A house isn't a home without a cat.
Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

There is a simple answer.
If someone posts a message asking for help, do not reply - unless you are offering help. That is help for their current situation. Not hindsight which always enjoys 20/20 vision.
I may have been guilty of breaking the above rule but, sometimes, people ask the stupidest questions and look like trolls.

The clock is being turned back though.
Telegraph:
Good morning and welcome to the year 2006.News from Nationwide that house prices fell by 2.5 per cent this month means that the average home is now worth what it was in December 2006 — and unfortunately this crash is only just beginning.0 -

It's nothing to do with falling prices, in fact i doubt anyone gives a hoot, massive gains, massive falls, who gives a toss. It's just the way you operate you are very unlikable and that is that, nothing to do with the current economic climate.0 -
In brief, general sentiments as follows...
BTLer in trouble - don't even bother posting you'll be hammered
Seller not selling - price unrealistic hadn't you realised?
Buyers who bought less than two years ago in trouble - own fault for not reading the market correctly
Buyers who bought 3+ years ago - generally ok unless try to sell (as above)
FTB about to buy - mad as a hatter as prices falling
Renters/STRers/living at home saving for deposits - best course of action all round.
Brilliant post - yes you got it right. May I also add:
-if you ask for advice about a loan however small or large, whatever your financial circumstances and whatever your reasons for taking the loan in the first place you will be judged as follows:
1.unable to look after your finances properly
2.borrowed money to finance a life style of luxury
3.the above money were borrowed either as equity withdrawal or if the loan is not secured on the house then you were hoping for house prices to rise so you can then sell and pay off your debts (this has actually happened to me!)
4.If you don't own a house, have no debts and doing well but stand up to HPC jihadists who abuse other posters, rules 1,2 and 3 apply to you by default.
5.If you still have your brain faculties intact and do not believe that a 50% HPC in 12 month is good for this country, and actually try to depict the desperation that will ensue in this Armageddon scenario, rules 1,2 and 3 apply to you by default.
6.At the HPC jihadist's discretion, you may at any point be blamed personally for the over-inflated prices of the UK property, boom and bust economics or any other world ailment (this has actually happened to me!)
Joke aside, as other posters have said, I think if you are polite and respectful of others opinions, then there is not a lot these abusive posters can do. If you happen to come under attack (it is usually two or three posting together), I believe a dignified silence speaks louder than a thousand posts - in this way, you cannot be accused of anything and also you are not providing them with any more ammunition.0 -
I think some people are so carried away by the crash-correction, they dont even read OP's post. As soon as they see FTB in the subject heading they're in here with their statistics and graphs.
Whether FTB wants advice on getting a mortgage with a £30k deposit, understanding the survey they've just had done or picking wallpaper, theres ALWAYS one person that will come in and say - "You shouldnt buy now - wait 6 months"...who asked you!? Stick to the subject at hand because everyones circumstances are different and if it that FTB wishes to purchase now rather than wait 18 years for the crash-correction to be over - leave them to it....if you have no advice on wallpaper, click "Back"!January 2014 - £20,3400 -

House prices are correcting back to normal levels now. Why shouldn't people who have seen this coming warn others potentially saving them tens of thousands of pounds and misery.
Its the right thing to do morally. Why do you want people to suffer? Whats your motive?
If someone asks you for the quickest route to place A you would warn them if you knew the dark ally way was full of gang members and there is a different route. It is no different warning first time buyers.
I reserve the right to warn these ftb to help them make a more informed and balanced decision.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

I'd think that the only way that anyone could have failed to notice that there's a house price crash is by living underground for the last six months. Personally I'd see buying a house as being preferable to living in a hole in the ground but if you don't how about you warn them only before they exchange contracts, just the once and without the use of the word 'stupid'?0
