Recently I am noticing more and more spiteful and vicious remarks made to other posters, these posts are usually aimed at people that seem to be doing well, they have found somewhere they want to buy and everything is on track but them some j3rk comes along and tears them down, why?
Or if someone is experiencing difficulty due to current situations they are quick to jump in an ridicule them!!!
Why is it that some people are only happy when they see someone else fail?!!!

One word.....JEALOUSY.0 -
I don't think its just jealousy. My DH joined MSE forum recently and was vehemently attacked for asking a question (not a personal one but one to do with banking) and IMMEADIATELY was accused of trolling etc. Only one of the attackers was gracious enough to apologise when corrected.
A lot of people hide behind computer screens to vent. A lot of people join here as ill informed as I am and then seem to be experts very quickly. Now, either I'm a slow learner, or there is a lot more information here from provably infallible sources than I am finding, lol.
I think its important, not just here but generally that those of us who like it polite maintain politeness, because once the mudslinging starts people sink to the lowest common denominator. We all have opinions, some of us are more assured than others.
The forum rules do call for courtesy. Thank you for trying to improve the environment!0 -
The interweb is going to hell in a handcart, I tell you.0

I agree and have made my point on another thread where the OP immediately got an abusive response. No reasoning just abuse! They were shortly followed by others even though OP made valid points.
It is noticeable that this kind of activity is normally triggered by an 'I will buy now whatever the market' statement whereupon the usual HPC vs. HPI slagging starts.
It is a huge shame for the OP and off-putting to genuine requests for help.0 -
Yeah I think people do hide behind their screens, not everyone is an expert in this field which is why they are asking question which is what the forum is for.
If your ill you go and speak to a doctor you don't expect them to laugh at you and say "well go a figure it out for yourself!!"
I read recently some j3rk wishing this woman would lose her house because she brought a buy to let!! !!!!!!?!! That's like wishing someone would die because they smoke!?!!!0 -

I think that you're right in that there is an element of that but I there is also a bit of how much people have invested in there being a crash or not. Some people seem to have based their entire future financial planning on property ending up in the BOGOF bin in Tesco and if that doesn't happen then they are !!!!!!ed and the second group of people have put themselves in poverty to struggle onto a ladder that doesn't seem to be leaning on anything anymore.
Frightened people tend to be a little aggressive.0 -

No its like wishing someone would die because they drown puppies in the river and torture babies with cigarette ends. Sorry but I have no love for greedy buy to let investors.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

People who have been prices out of the market tend to be angry as they are unable to provide for families etc.
However, those in the market are seeing their wealth being eroded.
IE no-one is currently winning, everyone is a loser it seams.0
