Could you do the one wedding day with them and then head off somewhere else (ie a different resort) for the rest of the time? That way you get a dream holiday and go to the wedding without being stuck with them for the whole two weeks.
It does seem a bit unreasonable though!0 -
Her decision to have her wedding abroad.
Your decision to not go to her wedding abroad.
She made her choice and knew the remifications of weddings abroad and that people are less likely to attend.
Do not go if you do not want to. Simple as that. If she is "desperate" for you to go, she will pay.0 -
We are thinking about getting married abroad next year. We have said that family are welcome but will not be forced to come. (we cant afford to pay everyones fares, hotels etc)
If people dont want to or cant afford to we are having a party when we get back where we will celebrate with our families.
I only siad that family could go out of politeness to be honest and as soon as i said it i regretted it. We just want a private - just the 2 of us wedding, no family arguments etc.
Luckilly all our family have said that we should just go and have a nice time and enjoy our time together, plenty of time to party when we get back.
So its up to you wheter you go or not, i cant see how she would be offended if you said - thanks for the invite but no thanks, we only get 1 holidaya year and we were planning on going to such and such so we just cant afford to do 2.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
