Brendan has uploaded the NEW version of the spreadsheet. It has nearly all of the fixes y'all have spoken about not to mention all of the new links.
This version is for Microsoft Excel running in a Microsoft Windows environment.
If you have already completed a budget which you wish to keep, make sure you select a different area to download the file to or it will over write your existing file.
As before please posts comments & suggestions about the spreadsheet here.

Hey, I'm having a problem with my desird values, they're all entered in, but aren't appearing in expenditure totals?
Not a massive problem, just thought I draw your attention to it
Cheers0 -
The yellow "Desired" sections are designed to be filled in manually, you will then be able to print the page/s off. You will then be able to look at the print-outs using Martins "Mantra's" to help stick to your new changes.
Everyone is different, some may be happy with a monthly printout, others may prefer the more detailed printout, hense the fact the yellow "Desired" cells are formatted in this manor and the user is free to type directly to those cells.0 -
Hi, really am a beginner -- sorry. When I download and save the file I just put it on my desktop. Then when I try to open it I get ACDC trying to access my info -- which I permit -- then nothing actually opens. I have microsoft works and My money so I seem to have some of the programs that other people are mentioning that can make spreadsheets. What actual part of my computer should I be saving your zip file in? (I've already lost one download in an unspecified part of my computer.. I'm that illiterate). This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Aahhh Ms Driver, this file is for Microsoft Excel. This can be purchased as a standalone program, but is more common amongst users of Microsoft Office.
We will be looking to create other versions of the file for differing systems namely Works & Open Office and we should also have a version available for Mac operating systems thanks to Moneysaver MacUser.
I know that Martin has wanted online versions of his calculators for a long time, this is also in the pipeline.0 -

Hi.
I've had a quick look at your spreadsheet and I have to say it does look rather swanky! I've not yet entered anything in cos I'm at work, and for some bizarre reason, I'm expected to actually work! The concept is completely beyond me!
Anyway, the point of my reply is this......I have an hp iPAQ and would like to download your spreadsheet to it as it's easier to play with than my laptop! but can't due to the password protection. I entriely understand your reasoning behind password protection but do u have any suggestions? or is it just not possible?!
Any ideas, gratefully recieved!

Hello Helen,
I am glad you like it. Yes we are working on alternative formats. You obviously appreciate why in this instance protection has been used as you will appreciate that other unprotected formats will take a slightly different layout.
In answer to your question, yes there will be unprotected versions available but these will look & work differently.0 -

I have just downloaded the spreadsheet from the website to see if the problem was replicated. I opened the spreadsheet with no problems (This is the first time I have also d/l'ed & tested the "Digital Signature" feature).
What operating system & version of Office are you using please?0
