To be fair people tend to thank posts for all sorts of reasons. I've seen purely vicious posts get thanked by others of the same ilk. Not saying that's specific to your case but I'm not sure in general the number of thanks is really synonymous with being helpful or constructive.
I do sometimes agree with you and have even thanked you myself on occasion but to be honest a lot of the time I really cringe at the way you post and talk to people. Only reason I haven't said anything until now is because I mentally keep giving you "another chance" because you do occasionally say the sensible thing. But a lot of the time you really are quite off putting. I'm not trying to have a go but I'm giving my completely honest view of your posts and how they come across to me (most of the time I merely read them and am not taking part in those threads myself). You seem to forget about the being nice to other moneysavers bit. There's no absolute free speech here because this is a privately owned forum and so we should adhere to not only the rules but the accepted etiquette. We all get frustrated and have off days. But I think you could do with keeping in mind a bit more about how you're coming across to people."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Thats fair enough you thinking that. Your point of view is far more rational than the 'go somewhere else' comments that have been written. I will say when I come across as 'off putting' you can pretty much gaurantee that I have chosen to take the same tone (or similar) as the post I'll be commenting on. So in those cases I don't have a tremendous amount of sympathy.
You've also got to remember a lot of people come on here with a complaint and turn out to be in the wrong, it's pointed out to them but then they won't accept it. Then they'll try and argue and fall into the category above of being the initial person to be 'off putting'. The "Taking Faulty Goods back without Receipt " thread from yesterday is an example.
Similarly you'll notice I'll do the same with you. On another note 'freedom of speech' is allowed on these boards. A mod on a thread started by Eagerlearner about me was locked as the mod said & I quote
(MSE Andrea Forum Editorial)
"Remember, anyone is entitled to their opinion provided it's not abusive, offensive, racist etc or personal against another site user. We never remove posts just because someone's criticized Martin or the site for his recommendations, that's a person's viewpoint entirely and they're perfectly within their rights to express that opinion."
The thread was locked on that comment. So that pretty much sums it up.0 -

Yeah posts like that are good!0

Anyway, getting back on topic, is not the crux of the matter problems of not being able to cancel when you're entitled to (no matter what the intentions are of cancelling just during the free trial or genuine intentions of carrying on if the trial was good)?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
