You, tim, claim to have a wealth of experience in retail, just think how useful you could be if you posted with the intention of helping the op :D

There is a discussion board for debates - and it can get as hot you like on there!;)

Oh I have done. I think I wrote many useful things in the "taking an item back without a receipt" thread yesterday. The problem with my experience in retail is the way most people come on here and say how they've complained is often a disaster, you do need to kind of point that out!

I know theres a discussion board but for the sake of me being able to have some life I'm not going to go anywhere near it!

Exactly proves that many people don't know the best way to complain. Some are just plain rude, but for many (and isn't this the whole point of this website and Martin's ethos?) certain large retailers have fobbed them off for so long dodging their responsibilities that they (consumers) have adopted an aggressive attitude. Sometimes, people behave thus out of sheer frustration and would benefit from positive advice!

I haven't read the other thread, because I largely stay off this board now, the tone dismays me so much! But I will read it now.

There are some posters who seem to steer a thread away from the op and drag it out for pages ot, seemingly just because they can!

Re-read superscaper's post, tim, he puts what a lot of us have thought for a while very nicely! And then maybe make peace with the owner of this thread?

Well I am up for making peace with you Tim. Life's too short. I'm sorry for being childsish on the other thread. It wasn't as you suggest, so no one would know i had made fun of you. I am fully aware of the possiblitly to insert links to threads.

Anyway, thanks very much andyrules. You too make perfect sense. I shouldn't have deviated from the topic and engaged in a diverse discussion. I only wanted to start this board to prevent people falling victim to this company-as many have done on this vent forum-sometimes to the tune of £100s.

Anyways, thats my feelings guys. I would like to keep this board on topic also, Tim, so would ask that you post any further posts to that effect. I know it is a basic human right to have an opinion, but I am asking you, kindly, to respect my wish. I hope you will.

14 working days are up, and no refund. Just spoke to Siobhan AGAIN and she said they have a "backlog" in the admin department, but her manager will manually process my refund today. So I'll give it another week to go into my account then I'll be on to trading standards!

Oh what a pain lilian. Still at least they have said they will refund you. I would ring back just before 5pm if I were you, and just say "Sorry to bother you, but can you just confirm that the manager has refunded my money today please?"

    Good luck

Sent my film back today recorded delivery, they can't say they didn't get it if it's signed for! Cancelled my account a couple days ago to fingers crossed it'll all be okay.
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.

I don't consider that you have deviated, sfg, rather, defended your corner. btw, just a small point, you started a thread not a board, I'm not bothered but there are some who would nit-pick that point with you!;)

Back ot, I see you already have a little group of 'fellow sufferers' - good to see that your thread has a positive outcome! :T

I got my 'lost dvd' form on Saturday, posted it off same day via Recorded Delivery so they cannot say it wasn't received, hopefully now it's a case of them honouring their word and not taking money yet again from my card in early July.

I am also hoping they will respond to my letter confirming the whole thing is canceled.
