What is the purpose of the vent forum if not to let off steam and ask for polite and constructive advice. There is a difference between a bit of gentle humour and the outright aggression shown by some of the people on this thread. The op has said she will not use the MSE site any longer, you must be really proud of yourself 'iamthesmartestmanalive'.

They said to go wash off my hands/arm..i did and yet could still smell the oil.

This just shows the low intellect compensation mentality of so many in this country!

You actually went to customer services first before washing it off. The most basic natural instict when you get dirty is to clean yourself!

This has now seemed to have stopped in this country. First you have to go via customers services...............I wonder why?

What is happening to this country?

It's like people need their hand held for them everytime something goes slightly wrong.

They can cope with it if it happens in their own homes, as soon as it's on a retail premisis lets milk it and overreact as much as we possibly can! And oh, straight to the customer services desk, why prioritize cleaning ourselves!

!!!!!! it's almost an embarrisment to be the same specices as these people.

Look at the complete melodramatic stupid comments on here. People are blabbering on about the "what if" of allergies, eczema etc but completely turning a blind eye when it comes to the op keeping this stuff on them to show customer services! If you've got a bloody allergy clean it off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! don't wonder around all day showing as many people as you can for sympathy.

Why have half the people who have used the "allergy" argument completely ignored this?

Am I hearing this right? This woman was covered in a falmmable LIQUID and people are telling her to get a life?????
Oil is a flammable liquid though. That's why, many years ago, before we were born people had oil lamps, lamps fuelled by oil and lit with fire to burn.

    SFG x

So you'd spend the day walking around with it then complaining before cleaning it off!

    HHEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry but the lot of you 'knowing better' about everything need to shut up. When you have oil on you then you can worry.

Yeah, don't worry about cleaning it off! Go to customer services first, it obviously can wait!

    Anyone got a lighter?

I beg to differ on the over-reaction reply.

Yeah, I wouldn't clean myself in that case. I'd wonder around a bit and oh............make sure I show customer services!

I might think about cleaning it after that.

Okay..its oil, oil to put in a torch, you light the wick and the oil burns. Thus its flammable. Would YOU want to walk to a bus station then spend 10-15mins on a bus then have a 5min walk home whilst you had flammable oil on you?!

No, the customer services desk is much better.

    Can clean it off later.
