If supermarkets stuck to selling food then this would never have happened. I'm as bad as everybody else (just about to go to Morrisons) and use them regularly and can't help but wander down the 'seasonal aisle' to see what they have that I never knew I needed before I went in there.

These items are far from 'money saving' and often would not be purchased if a specific trip to another shop were needed. Maybe we could all learn a lesson from this tale and save money too.

What is the purpose of the vent forum if not to let off steam and ask for polite and constructive advice.

She got good advice though, right from the very start of the thread.

Just because no one here agreed that she should sue Morrisons for £1m she got the hump and then started posting aggressively.

Actually she was told she was "the sort of dredge on society we need rid of".
I don't class that as good advice.
Looking back over the thread I am disgusted at how the op was treated by some of you - she was covered in oil because of negligence - the store were aware the lid was broken and yet it was placed on a high shelf. I think she deserved more than her dry cleaning bill paid for.

Actually she did get some very good advice on the thread and just didn't want to listen to it.

She also got a full apology from the store and an offer to reimburse her for her costs.

Blabbering on about excema etc is irrelevent. The store apologised for the accident and have politely tried to put things right.

Exactly what more would you have them do?

This was one post from a member that is known for his contentious posts. The OP has also received very good advice for this problem (the vast majority of posts).

It is disturbing that some people seem to ignore the good advice given on this thread.

Bull! She's like every other exaggerating consumer, she probably had a little dribble of the stuff on her hand. Anyone who has ever worked in a supermarket knows that consumers can't help but exaggerate, they want to complain about everything but they know deep down they're being petty, so the exaggeration kicks in and takes over.

maybe the supermarket should charge the OP for the oil and for cleaning the floor. Kind of puts the boot on the other foot. Might stop so many of these time wasters.

<edit> ops just realised, there was no oil on the floor, it was all over the OP lol

Aoart from the fact it would mean they wouldn't have stocked the product how do you figure this one out?
