He told me that they could trace the person who reduced the item and could deal with it to make sure it never happens again. That makes me feel slightly better, im still angry though. Ho hum.
You do realise they were just humouring you?superflygal wrote: »Who claimed it was "highly flammable"?
Oil is a flammable liquid though. That's why, many years ago, before we were born people had oil lamps, lamps fuelled by oil and lit with fire to burn.

Ah but did they have buses around to light them?0 -
Well there really are some awful people on this site.
I hope all you who were slagging the OP off are in the same situation one day. We will see then if you simply shrug your shoulders, say "Oh well !!!!!! happens" and walk off to the bus stop with your promise of cleaning bills paid for feeling happy and justly treated.....
Somehow, I don't think so!

I once had a bottle of Pernod fall on me in a supermarket - highly combustible and not particularly pleasant in many ways (not least the smell!). I went to the customer service desk because I had to abandon my shopping and didn't want to just leave it in the aisle - they were very sympathetic and offered to pay cleaning costs, but I wasn't really expecting anything else.
OP - I suffer from asthma and excema as well, but did you actually have any reaction to the oil? I would have thought you would already have treatments for both of these conditions if they flare up, which it doesn't sound like they did, but I would be surprised if the symptoms did not present themselves immediately or at least within an hour or so of the spill. You can't blame Morrisons for things that may have happened and I think the advice on here is pretty sound - ask them to cover any out of pocket expenses and explain that you weren't happy with the situation, but worrying about things which didn't happen is going to make them think you are exaggerating the situation for your own gain.0 -
This is not a dig, just an observation really...............
You were at Morrisons doing your weekly shop, well, wouldn't you have been getting a taxi home anyway then?
My first thought was you would have been in a car, but not many people do their weekly shop then go on the bus, as there are too many bags.
I think you have been very lucky to have the reaasurance you have got from the shop, my son was once sick in asda, all over himself, all over me, and all they offered me was a couple of baby wipes, which wasn't sufficient, and he was shaking and crying and they just left me, in the foyer, to sort my self and him out. No sympathy or help from a first aider or anything.:(0 -

I think the issue that other posters have is that the OP has come on here eing all "angry", when she has been promised by Morrisons that they will deal with her cleaning bill. They have apologised for the mistake. What's the point in getting all worked up about it? Why all the "what ifs"? The only consequences were some oil spilt on clothing (which will be cleaned). The OP has NOT spontaneously burst into flames or suffered any injury. It was a mistake, and it will be sorted by Morrisons. I can understand that anyone would feel a bit miffed that it had happened in the first place, but angry?0 -
OP agree this was a pain in the ar5e and can see why you are annoyed, however accisdents happen.
I would be very interested to know, lets say you are the manager of the store what exactly would you have done to satisfy the customer.0 -

About a year ago husband was in Morrisons and some bubble bath had leaked onto a shelf and husband didn't see it and reached across the shelf for another product.
A lovely shop assistant saw him and grabbed his arm and said 'look, you've got your jacket dirty!' (why she hadn't cleared up the spill but saw him put his arm in it was completely beyond hubby), frog marched him to customer services, took his jacket to the in-house dry cleaners, free and gave him a £15 shopping voucher.
I think if the OP explained to the manager, she was covered in a liquid that she felt could have been hazardous due to her asthma and eczma and the possibility of it causing skin irritation (I wouldn't have been aware it was harmless), I am sure the manager would consider paying something towards the taxi, maybe not all of it though. Maybe the manager would offer a store voucher instead.
If no joy in store, write to head office.
Best of luck

1) minor accident occurs
2) Store fully reimburses cleaning, apologetic and take appropiate action
3) OP overreacts, talks general crap and then tries to blackmail more cash out of the store for non necessary luxuries
She needs to get a life and a few braincells and stop trying to get something for nothing
I would have a good long hard think about your user name and wether to change it if i were you:rolleyes:0 -
Sorry, but I was not going to.

Citronella oil is popular as a 'natural' insect repellent.
One has to ask the question, did it get rid of the Crabs?0
