Okay..its oil, oil to put in a torch, you light the wick and the oil burns. Thus its flammable. Would YOU want to walk to a bus station then spend 10-15mins on a bus then have a 5min walk home whilst you had flammable oil on you?!

    I wouldn't have given a monkeys. It's only a bit of oil.

Would YOU want to pay out to have the clothes cleaned just because someone has put a bottle with a lid balancing on top back out onto the shelf to then have go back to the store with a reciept, to have that sent off to their insurers, to then have the money given back to you?

S**t happens, so I'd deal with it. Get the clothes cleaned and claim the expenses back, no problems.

Would you have wanted more than a baby wipe to help get it off after water didnt help?

Did you not use the loos in the supermarket? I'm sure the soap there would wash the oil off your hand adequately.

Would you expect a large company to have a procedure in place for this type of incident?

Yep, and I'm sure they do. Their procedure was probably to make sure you were cleaned up, which they did, and offer to pay for your expenses, which they did.

Would you be angry if this had happened to you and you know it shouldnt have happened at all?

Angry? Not in the slightest. Mildly miffed for five minutes perhaps, but certainly not angry enough to still be stewing it over, days later. Life's just too short.

I think you need to chill out a bit.

From the sound of the shop manager/staff. If you explain nicely about the taxi fair (don't tell them about your fear of 'combusting'). They may well recompense you for the additional (and unnecessary cost).

It appears, like many threads on here, she'd rather have the argument on here before finding that the shop will happily see to her costs.

Don't be daft, many soaps contain citronella oil, washing ones hands might cause one to combust.

Oh i was getting round to that (after reading the 'lovely' comments off other people towards me) rang them already..spoke to the manager who agreed with me that more could have been done in store and that it should have never been on the shelf. He told me that they could trace the person who reduced the item and could deal with it to make sure it never happens again. That makes me feel slightly better, im still angry though. Ho hum.

I had joined here in the hope of being helped/helping others and making friends along the way. I no longer hold that hope and wont be using here anymore. Call me fickle, add it to the list.

People have been helping you...you just are just not willing to see it. You have had good advice for your particular predicament.

And you're paying attention to the opinion of someone who uses the user name "I am the smartest man alive"!? - surely that must have given you a clue that they are really an 11 year old school boy who has no experience of life/women/anything else real....... ;)
