What prescription costs?
What lost wages for doctor's appointments?
There are none!
I have severe essential oil aggravated eczema and see no reason why any further claims need to be made. No asthma attacks occured because of the oil........nor did any adverse skin reactions. I have no idea where you are coming from?
Please elaborate why you think that the OP should start wasting GP's time just to get more money out of WM Morrisons when the NHS is already overstretched? The appointment you are suggesting could prevent someone who is actually in need of medical attention failing to get the help they require."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

Hmmm...lets read what I said again because really there is one magic word that makes the whole thing different. The word IF. Not go and waste your GPs time, not try and get more money for the sake of it. IF there was problems with the skin then that is what I advised. I have had oil on my skin before (a fault of my own I admit) and it cost me an hours worth of wages and two creams. With medication now at £7.10 each...IF...the OP worrys about their skin due to the accident then I would go to the GP.Debts: Gym £[strike]465.75[/strike] Student account [strike]£1039.88[/strike] Overdraft [strike]£129.00[/strike] Credit Card [strike]£2772.22[/strike] Loan [strike]£6222.01 [/strike]
Total £10628.86
All paid off! 10/03/2009 :j0 -
Citronella oil is not toxic, nor is it "highly flammable". A bit of an overreaction.
Harmful.
Irritating to respiratory system and skin.
Risk of serious damage to eyes.
May cause sensitisation by skin contact.
Possible risk of harm to the unborn child.
Harmful: may cause lung damage if swallowed.
Toxic to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Do not breath vapour.
In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
Wear suitable clothing, gloves and eye/face protection.
In case of accident or if you feel unwell seek medical advice immediately.
If swallowed, do not induce vomiting: seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label.
Avoid release to the environment. Refer to special instructions/safety data sheet.
If swallowed, do not induce vomiting: seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label.
I beg to differ on the over-reaction reply. She has the loaded handbag of someone who camps out and seldom goes home, or who imagines life must be full of emergencies..0 -

You could post the same reactions to a Flash liquid spill.
Still not sure what you're after from this thread?
As for the ""Ifs" .....well there weren't any.....so the status quo is fine IYO then?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."

Okay..its oil, oil to put in a torch, you light the wick and the oil burns. Thus its flammable. Would YOU want to walk to a bus station then spend 10-15mins on a bus then have a 5min walk home whilst you had flammable oil on you?!
I didnt.
Would YOU want to pay out to have the clothes cleaned just because someone has put a bottle with a lid balancing on top back out onto the shelf to then have go back to the store with a reciept, to have that sent off to their insurers, to then have the money given back to you? Like many others here i struggle on my wages and dont have the money to pay out and wait (?) amount of time for.
I dont.
Would you have wanted more than a baby wipe to help get it off after water didnt help?
I did.
Would you expect a large company to have a procedure in place for this type of incident?
I do.
Would you be angry if this had happened to you and you know it shouldnt have happened at all?
I am.
I work in retail myself..we have a procedure that surrounds toxic/flammable etc substances..we check that lids on bleach etc are secure and we have a certain procedure to follow if these get spilt..where i work is a relatively small company, 250 or so stores in the Uk, thus i really expected better of Morrisons.

Oil is a flammable liquid though. That's why, many years ago, before we were born people had oil lamps, lamps fuelled by oil and lit with fire to burn.
SFG x
The OP said it was...NEXT!
All you had to do was hit Ctrl F type the word highly and you'd see...or you could read the thread, that'd work aswell I suppose.
Did you know that human skin is flammable? In fact most things are.floralaura wrote: »Okay..its oil, oil to put in a torch, you light the wick and the oil burns. Thus its flammable. Did you convey any of these thoughts to the Customer service staff? "Here's a baby wipe" "Oh, I think I need more than that" If one was really that worried about the chemical on them you'd expect a little more than simply accepting a baby wipe and leaving.Bought, not Brought0 -
I still don't get this and I still feel the shop treated you fairly. They advised you wash straight away instore (very good advice). The manager offered full cleaning costs (very good customer service). I really think you were treated very fairly and well by the store once they realised their mistake.floralaura wrote: »I just paid £6.30 for a taxi home as was no going on the bus as terrified it would make me combust.
From the sound of the shop manager/staff. If you explain nicely about the taxi fair (don't tell them about your fear of 'combusting'). They may well recompense you for the additional (and unnecessary cost). How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

But you didn't walk to a bus station?
As for the cleaning bill - it's a tenner - are you saying that you want to claim interest on the £10 for however long they take to pay? If so, claim another £1 - that should cover it?
Are you asking for compensation for your anger?
Or compensation for a packet of baby wipes?
You need to be a little clearer as to what you are after as you are not connecting to most people on this thread?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
OP - I suspect it was a mistake on Morrissons' part, rather than company policy to cover valued customers in highly flammable, poisonous oil.
I assume you never make any mistakes?
Lots of things COULD have happened, but they didn't. You really need to calm down and put it behind you. Save your anguish for when something really serious happens.0
