Another busy day here. Some furniture being taken away by a local charity. The chairs were given to us when we first set up home, so were very welcome. We had them reupholstered, so they're still good, but are now surplus to our requirements. We have an excellent local charity organisation, which takes people's stuff, sells it very cheaply, and distributes more than £2000 a week to local organisations (scouts, guides, schools, playscheme, etc).

I'm off to a friend's house for supper, while children go to school disco (first for DS). I've offered to take pudding, so will be making individual sticky gingers.

Mowed the lawn yesterday, but went over a lot of apple and pear windfalls, so need to wash the mower today - it's reather sticky!

    Have a good one!

Bought some bread flour & yeast yesterday so later on I am going to attempt to make a loaf of bread

I dunno what loaf tin I need mine seem quite small but then again I am comparing with shop bread which is quite big.

Both the kids at school all day today, how nice! :D

Am a plank! Got call from dentist on Wed. Had missed my app't. Was convinced it was on Thurs hence my non-attendance. Luckily they could fit me in this monday!

Still trying to get the house back on order after the decorator.

DH has his sarnies for tea & he forgot to tell me he had a business lunch & I'd already made them. Saves me cooking tonight ;)

    Morning all.:T

Decided it'll be good if I go in to work a bit later on fridays and get some housework done between the kids leaving and my leaving. Might mean Saturdays are a bit less manic - hmm so what am I doing on here then?;)

WM on, one load out on line, DW emptied, kitchen wiped dow. About to mop kitchen floor. That lot should give me a head start on the weekend.:A

Meal planning tonight, just me, Rebus, glass of wine and several cookery books. got the free Nigel Slater with "She" the other day - great, spent the flight back from london reading it cover to cover. Is it just me or can other people "waste" time just reading cookery books?

    Take care all

    happy birthday mushy  .

S'pose I'd better go now. Ho Hum.

    Happy Birthday Mushy Peas:beer: :T :j

Bad night last night. Had a call from consultant last night and I have to go back into hospital next week as my pancreas/liver isnt working well:confused: I have to go to Charing Cross Hospital and have never been there before. So when I slept-dreams were all about needles and nurses (no good looking ones either:rolleyes: )

On a good note, we hopefully pick up the new car today :j :j :j ....about time!

Bedding has been stripped. WM is on and DW emptied. Cleaner is here today so no cleaning.

I also need some advice on PA's at secondary schools if anyone can help. I will post a thread later in correct section and ask for replies/advice:D What do the job roles include etc:confused:

    Breakie: Toast & Marmite
Lunch: Baked Spud, coleslaw, cheese and salad
    Dinner: Chicken Curry & Rice

    Hugs to all.

    Good Morning to Everyone:hello:

    Happy Birthday to MushyPeas!:bdaycake:

Have had morning cuppa and toast with butter:drool: (its so much nicer than marg!), put some chicken drumsticks in fridge marinating in sticky bbq (M&S), have got to iron DS1 shirt in a minute as he's off to funeral, DS2 just got up and is sitting in my lap, he likes to put the smilies in!:easter_os (sorry his choice)

Had great fun following the "chicken & leek pie off" last nite:rotfl:
Im tempted to have a go myself now - seeing as ive never done one either:o

but I have a marrow to use up, and have found a marrow,tomatoe/cheesy bake recipe so will have a go at that later!

michelle - enjoy your last day at work! how long till bump arives??

    :EasterBun chocolate anyone?

Time to get ready for work - Have a lovely friday everyone:wave: :easter_ba
  • Good Morning All

 Happy Birthday Mushy Peas - have a good one

Char97michelle - enjoy your last day, I remember mine clearly it was so exciting.

Damp dull weather here which also describes well how im feeling today. Did some housework yesterday but as we had people round last night it now looks like it hasnt been done for weeks and I didnt get round to the ironing so have a rather large pile of that. Am at inlaws tonight and out sat and sun so really need to get on today but just feel like sitting down with a magazine and coffee and a little snooze sounds appealing too.

Anyway enough moaning what I actually plan to do is - take DS to school - cheating in car today so can get home quickly. Then will clean up kitchen and unload diswasher. 1 load of washing in machine. Hoover downstairs (will do landing upstairs later when OH up) then will put telly on and iron. Hopefully that wont take forever so can nip into office and make a start on the in pile. Oh also forgot need to make start on college homework before go back in next wed.

Cant wait to have a weekend soon with nothing on (apart from the normal football etc) so can have a real chill.

Best be off now - have a great day all.

Happy Birthday Mushy Peas - hope you have a lovely day:j

Well I have just written out my to list for the day and there is clearly enough to last at least a week:eek: Im off on holiday tomorrow so it all needs to be squeezed in. Im not at all excited about this holiday for some reason and I really should be but I think its because Ive had such a busy week and today is going to be crammed so hopefully by tonight the giddyness will have set in
    :rotfl:

Lovely blue sky today and already warm so the 3 loads of washing should dry ok:rolleyes:

Had a really busy time in London and was sorry to miss shez and rzl - I had underestimated the hours people work so was still in meetings when I should have been in the pub:D Hope to catch you next time girls for a bit longer maybe.

    Have a lovely day all

    Morning all

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUSHYPEAS :bdaycake: Have a fab day.

I'm still at home with my back although it's improving. I can stand & lie down comfortably but sitting is still quite painful. That didn't stop me enjoying the chicken & leek pie off thread yesterday, my DH found it very annoying that I was laughing out loud & was a little  when I told him it was all about baking pies.:rotfl:

Snowy I hope you're knitting goes well. Because I've been at home & fairly immobile this week I've started a(nother) scarf. I'm very pleased with it so far but if past experience is anything to go by I'll never finish it.

I've done quite a lot of cooking this week because I can stand OK & the freezer is fairly well stocked as a result so at least the time hasn't been a complete waste.

    Have a great Friday everyone.

    Morning all

Happy birthday Mushy - hope you have a great day.

Michelle - Ohhhh you lucky thing - I remember my maternity leave with DD1, was this time of year too - loved sitting doing a bit of sewing with the curtains pulled mid afternoon watching ready steady cook.....don't think I've ever had that much time to myself since.

DD1 is off school today - she went back to school during the week with her broken foot but isn't managing very well - school don't seem to be helping much either, will be having words later. We're going to do some maths problems this morning and then have a crafty day making some christmas cards. Tomorrow we've planned to start making some paper mache bowls to decorate for grandparents for christmas...will paint them and fill with sweeties.

Had fish and chips last night as I've a stinking cold and really couldn't find the energy to cook. Have fished some soup out the freezer for tonight, will make some fresh bread to go with it.

Off to trawl round another 3 secondary schools next week - the one I saw last week was so horrendous, I wanted to heckle the headteacher in the middle of his talk - I restrained myself though. ;)

Am fighting a losing battle with cleaning in this house, the builders were cutting bricks yesterday so everything has that nice pinkish tinge of brick dust on it.....ah well - hides the dust.

    Have a good day all.
