This time 12 years ago I was lying on a bed with my legs in the air and some bloke had his hand up my  Thats because it's my DD1's 12th birthday today. She got a few Doctor Who toys, DVDs, games, a Tamagothci and some spending money. After school we went to Brewer's Fayre for tea so no cooking for me today!

Aww, thanks everyone!!! My confidence has floundered muchly and I wasn't too sure about the Home Ec., thing, but yes, I shall bake her a cake, include *all* recipes and hopefully, by doing it in a
Freya - oooh no :o my motives wouldn't be "revenge" based, more, educational :o
Fay - thank you for your thoughts, good point, well presented!!! :D:D It wouldnt' have occured to me that it could be misconstrued as sarcasm, but, I can see what you mean :D:D One it will be :D
twink - LOL!!! Yes, let her eat it first is a good tip ;):D :T
Shez - the recipes (AFAIK) aren't in the index; actually my mum wrote out the eggless (vinegar) fruitcake recipe years ago in my teen recipe book, but that sadly got lost in my many moves; I'm relying on dear ole Marguerite Patten and her "We'll Eat Again" recipes (tried and tested  )
MimiF - thank you for the update - prayers still being sent ((hugs))
dannahaz - your post made me :rotfl: because on of my dbro's who married a Dutch girl (yes, my lads can rightly admit they have a "Dutch Uncle" hehehe) makes his that way! His wife thought *everyone* in Britain deep fat fried their roasties and was completely bamboozled when she asked me how to make them (to surprise him) and I showed her the long winded (traditional) method
taplady - should that be a weetabix cake with exlax chocolate topping ;)
PoshPaws - Black Panther is by my side as I type out recipes ;):):D
:hello: Welcome to our world csarina :D:D:D
I now have my free preserving pan!!! :j :j (forgot it last week :o ) and 2 1lt buckets full of sloes :j :j (one happy Queenie :D )

    Evening everyone :hello:

    :hello: to csarina :hello:

Well today has been one interesting day............. where do I start  ?

The OS side of things: I've got a chilli in the oven (Jamie Oliver in his "Happy Days" book), which will be our late supper. DH is in charge of tweaking it at the end as I'll be marking.......

We've heard from the estate agent and the purchase of the house that we were buying has fallen through. Apparently, the vendor has only just  realised how expensive the properties are where she was hoping to buy..... Surely people know these things when they think about moving  . So, it's back to square one on that front.

At school today, the lady that was supposed to be teaching French (who turned up for the first time yesterday) was sent home by the head before she went near the children because she was drunk!

You may remember that I had a pretty poor day at school on Tuesday. Well, I've had a word with the head and she's being really really supportive. She came into my class yesterday morning and bawled at the little cherubs. Needless to say, today they are back to their normal selves....... She also appreciates that I'm working like a demon to get everything sorted. My parallel class teacher has handed in her notice, so we are now two teachers down in 3 weeks of teaching!

Well, I look forward to yet another fun day of work tomorrow!

    Take care all.
    Vicky

I've shown this to DH. I think I've got his Christmas present sorted :rotfl:
