Hello all,
Just a quickie, have popped into work to catch up but there is some much to do, will go to hosp at 12 then will have to dash back at 14.00 ish to bring my lovely G'ma home, poor thing Dad is her eldest and she is really struggling with this.
Dad is still stable, as you would expect on the life support really. Today they will begin to slowly take him off the life support and that is the big test I think. If the toxins reach his heart then thats it so am praying he will keep fighting these infections even without the support. I guess the next couple of days are crucial. I'm sure your thoughts and prayers are helping, Thank you.
OS - not much I'm afraid I have a washing mountain growing and two children who are beginning to feel very displaced by what has been going on, want to try and focus on them today as well and OH who I have hardly seen since Monday.
Hugs to all in need, am just skimming the threads at the mo.
Thank You again.

Shez-you should try it, fantastic exercise and good fun...I actually stopped fewer times than some of the boxers! Maybe you could try boxercise if not the boxing classes? One bonus..cute men with very nice bodies to look at :j
I have now fetched my beef, I went for topside and the butcher told me how to cook it. He said that serloin would be best but too expensive, the topside was enough at 10.50 for 4 of us! but it does look lovely. Yum, got me some nice cooked turkey too and just had a sandwich of it.
On the counter he had some leaflets about winter warmer dishes with lamb, some lovely recipes in there, so keep a look out in your local butchers for them. Right I am off, well in a bit, to do some work0 -
Hi EveryoneQueenie wrote::hHome Ec teacher. She doesn't believe you can make cakes without eggs ( ). In fact, she is sooooo positive that you can't, she has resorted to being somewhat sarcastic towards D12yo on the issue and threatened that if she hears anymore about eggless cakes, he will get an automatic detention!! ...she does appear to have a closed mind on this aspect and to be sarcastic to my lad as if he's a numpty turnip is quite something else when it means ridiculing him in front of the whole class.
Your poor son, that's terrible! It struck a chord with me because about a zilliion years ago (when I was 11), our Home Ec teacher asked the class how you cooked roast potatoes. I put my hand up and told her, and she and the rest of the class just howled with laughter. I never put my hand up inhome ec again. (My mum used to par boil the potatoes and then put them in a deep fryer. We were a family of five greedy pigs and she just couldn't cook enough in the oven. Of course, as she's *always* done them this way, I had no idea it was "wrong".)
I think you should send him in with an eggless cake for her, maybe with an accompanying note saying you'd heard that she didn't believe in eggless cakes, here's the proof.
I've spent the morning out in the front garden. We had the driveway done recently, looks fab, and now I need to get all the weeds out of the borders so that they don't let the drive down.
Salad for lunch, and HM watercress soup for dinner. Having a low calorie day to make up for our roast potato comparison competition yesterday!
Have a good day everyone xx0 -
Good afternoon :j
Posting from work today (as you can prob tell I'm slightly bored  ) roll on the weekend

Afternoon all
We've been out this morning to collect some Freecycle loot - an Easiyo Yoghurt maker and a Shawn the Sheep backpack. :j I'm not sure which one I'm more pleased with. I've been reading up on the h/m yoghurt threads and think I'm just about ready to get it started. Well, once I've been to get the necessary ammunition, that is.
Yesterday was non-stop with housework or cooking. I managed to get everythng on my "to do" list done, except for updating my cash flow and spending my online survey vouchers. I am hoping to use them for some birthday presents for DS. I think I've got about £30 in Amazon vouchers now. :T
Today's "jobs of the day" are to change the beds and make a bacon quiche - but not at the same time.
Queenie - that teacher deserves to have an eggless cake baked for her, labelled complete with the recipe and have it presented to her by your goodself. At the same time, you can tell her that you'd appreciate it if she wouldn't ridicule your child in front of the class until she's done her homework. At which point, you raise your nose in the air and stalk off like one of the !!!!!cat Dolls. She's got it coming to her.
Welcome to OS, Csarina!
Mimi - here's hoping your Dad will rally and get the better of the infections. Will keep sending good healing vibes.
Right well, better get those beds done. Meals for today include :
B : h/m wholemeal toast & marmite
L : leftover yesterday's beef stew on a jacket spud
D : h/m bacon quiche and salad. Might make a few rolls to go with it.:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0
