Hi to everyone on OS today!
I've had a productive day for a change. I've dropped DS off at playgroup. Done some washing, cut the hedges, washed up, cooked tea for later (steak & ale Casserole), started sorting out the ironing and washed up again!
Also treated myself to a "new" pair of beige trousers made by Tescos for 50p and a new Mr Men book for my DS for 30p! The weather is very overcast here in Hereford, heop it does not pour down on the way home from the playgroup.
Take care all

Afternoon all  I've only read the first page so far, so forgive me if I miss something of great import!
This morning has been quite busy, been out to pick up the necessary ammunition to start my new EasiYo yoghurt maker off. We have scorned the mixes and are working with long life milk and a dollop of live yoghurt as a starter. I only put it together an hour ago, but already I want to have a peep and see what its doing. I shall defrost some blackberries and raspberries to go with it, or if its a disaster, to make a jelly with! The BM is whirring away with two wholemeal loaves, I've just lunched on lentils batch cooked in the SC with stock from the last roast chicken, then home frozen in lunch-sized portions, so I'm feeling distinctly OS already. LOL
I need to run around with the vac and change DS's bedclothes, then get on with a bacon quiche for dinner tonight. Only trouble is, I feel so sleepy! Getting up at 4am twice then 5am today, is starting to tell. I shall have to crack the whip when I'm done here.
Happy birthday, MushyPeas! Hope its a lovely one for you.
Must ... not ... doze .... zzzzzzzzzzzz....... :eek::hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:Weight loss since 2 March 10 : 13lbs0 -
Peem wrote:got the free Nigel Slater with "She" the other day - great, spent the flight back from london reading it cover to cover. Is it just me or can other people "waste" time just reading cookery books?
Hi, Peem, I can certainly do that too. I also have the NS freebie, and have found a few great quick recipes. Think there might be more along, soon.Peny_Pincher wrote:I also need some advice on PA's at secondary schools if anyone can help. I will post a thread later in correct section and ask for replies/advice What do the job roles include etc
PP, what's a PA in this context? Where will you be posting?Essex_Girl wrote:Cant wait to have a weekend soon with nothing on (apart from the normal football etc) so can have a real chill.

Nelski, enjoy Egypt. No, I'm not at all jealous, I happen to prefer rainy weather
Doctor Onestep, well done you! :T There must be more Docs on this thread than any other.
Enjoy the weekend!

Happy Birthday Mushy Peas
Have bread dough in the breadmaker and will make french bread in the oven while I roast a few chicken breasts to use in chicken pasta for later.
Spent from 5 a.m. being sick and rushing to the loo - think I may have the same virus that DD(12) has had for the last two days.
Will crawl back to bed later as I have to be fit to go with DD(17) to visit university tomorow.
Trying not to look at food - which should make cooking tea interesting lol;)
hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

Hello everyone.
Well done Onestep:T
Happy Birthday Mushy Peas:bdaycake:
Well, it is a quiet one here. DS and DD were at their respective nurseries this morning so I had the wm on - clothes on line and I have to keep checking weather as it was glorious sun when I put it out and is now very black out there- and I have had a really good tidy round. Don't know why I bother on a Friday because the house will get so messy over the weekend.
Dinner tonight will be a nice tomato pasta, salad and some bread from the BM.
Hope you all have a good day.0 -

Somebody said "Lemon Drizzle Cake". It has made me drool all day long. Sorry, can't remember who it was...but any chance of a recipe???
Thank you!0 -
Afternoon All,
Hugs to all in need, and congrats to those of us celebrating!
I fear I am suffering with the dreaded "man flu" I feel absolutely ruddy awful. I have decided it is my body's way of telling me to slow down. I seem to be very busy of late. In the last 2 weeks I have found myself being elected representative on the village hall committee on behalf of the toddlers group and the nursery, treasurer of the toddlers group and co-chairperson of the PTA at DD1s school:eek:. Add to this I've had meettings all over the shop for these things, am baking myself silly for kids parties and McMillan fundraisers. Ooops, not to forget the stress of the driving test!!! Seem to have collapsed. My 2 good friends, bless them :A, have come to my rescue COMPLETELY today though. They took DD1 to school, DS and DD2 to toddler group and then home to theirs for lunch. So I managed to have from 10.20 till 3.10 to myself and I slept THE ENTIRE TIME:o.
Got yet more baking to do though as is a mates sons birthday tomorrow and we have DSD for the weekend too and she is keen on the HM choc chip cookies:p.
Will be exceedingly lazy and make the kids sausages and chips for tea, not fab I know but dead easy.
Off to make more lemon and ginger tea ,
Love to all,

Yes that is happening way too much at the moment... Punish the Deed, Not the Breed!
Besides my view is that the situation should NEVER have arisen in the first place - who on earth would not secure guard dogs properly? And the other one where a toddler was able to get to a tied up dog! ARGH! Why wasn't someone watching the child!
Anyway I am digressing and this isn't an OS topic so I'll stop before I'm told off :cool:DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Thank you!
Hi, Snowy! Wasn't me, but I have Mary Berry's cake book (great investment btw, details here) and this is the recipe I use: Lemon drizzle cake.
It's the 3rd recipe down.
