Besides my view is that the situation should NEVER have arisen in the first place - who on earth would not secure guard dogs properly? And the other one where a toddler was able to get to a tied up dog! ARGH! Why wasn't someone watching the child!
Anyway I am digressing and this isn't an OS topic so I'll stop before I'm told off
The 2 dogs should have never been near that child. The other attach was not too far from me so everyone round here is up in arms, I would not leave them alone with any child, my rotty boy who is just over 1 and weighs 8 stone can try his luck sometimes, he hates being told off if he has done something wrong and he will snarl, some people see this and run for the hills,
but he soon gets put in his place and I have to show him who is boss, verbally not physical. I do not understand people hollering abuse at innocent pet owners because this has happened do you?0 -

Hugs to all in need, and congrats to those of us celebrating!
I fear I am suffering with the dreaded "man flu" I feel absolutely ruddy awful. I have decided it is my body's way of telling me to slow down. I seem to be very busy of late. In the last 2 weeks I have found myself being elected representative on the village hall committee on behalf of the toddlers group and the nursery, treasurer of the toddlers group and co-chairperson of the PTA at DD1s school:eek:. Add to this I've had meettings all over the shop for these things, am baking myself silly for kids parties and McMillan fundraisers. Ooops, not to forget the stress of the driving test!!! Seem to have collapsed. My 2 good friends, bless them :A, have come to my rescue COMPLETELY today though. They took DD1 to school, DS and DD2 to toddler group and then home to theirs for lunch. So I managed to have from 10.20 till 3.10 to myself and I slept THE ENTIRE TIME:o.
Got yet more baking to do though as is a mates sons birthday tomorrow and we have DSD for the weekend too and she is keen on the HM choc chip cookies:p.
Will be exceedingly lazy and make the kids sausages and chips for tea, not fab I know but dead easy.
Off to make more lemon and ginger tea ,
Love to all,
Al.
Forgive me if I've missed it - I've not read all this weeks threads but did you pass your driving test??????

Kiwi Chick, well done on passing your driving test. Its fantabulous to be able to go where you want when you want!
Well I made bread today. OH MY GOD, IT LOOKS WONDERFUL. And I made pizza with the rest of the dough. DELICIOUS!
Now I know what you are all raving about.
Made by hand as well. Depending on how I go I may invest in a breadmaker.
Watch out, I might get a slowcooker

Penelope_Penguin wrote:Hi, Snowy! Wasn't me, but I have Mary Berry's cake book (great investment btw, details here) and this is the recipe I use: Lemon drizzle cake.
It's the 3rd recipe down.
Penny. x
Penny, that is a fabulous link, thank you! I like to bake (and quickly gobble the proceeds unfortunately) but have until now been stumped on batch baking. So, starting with one basic recipe, then adding bits and pieces to half of it etc is a much more efficient use of my time and I can actually fill the oven without worrying about things being in at the wrong temperature. Excellent!!0 -
Thanks Penelope Penguin for the lemon drizzle cake recipe. I have a friend who makes this every time we visit and it is divine - now I can make it myself - and try the chocolate one. Mmmm. More weight OS will make me put on.0

Evening everyone
Snowy I can recommend the Mary Berry book, I've never had a failure from it.
I particularly recommend the fork biscuits, the oat rounds and the anzac biscuits, also all the tray bakes, the American chocolate wedding cake (made it for my mum's 60th) and the Christmas cake amongst many others including the lemon drizzle
Just had a rubbish supperrice pilaff thing with fish and prawns (should have stuck to my planned fish stew). The rice was overcooked which isn't something that usually happens to me  .Trouble is dd has a dance lesson at 4.45 and it messes up supper preparations. Personally I think eating a homecooked meal round the table with my family is more important than after school activities. We chose her ballet class because it was a Saturday morning, but 'extra lessons' creep in when an exam comes up, and the Saturday lessons gradually get later until they are through lunchtime:rolleyes: I bet this doesn't happen in France, I feel a rant coming on so I'll shut up

Good evening all
Thank you so much for the lovely birthday wishes, I'm sitting here at my computer smiling and clapping my hands (my mum thinks I'm mad....). It means so much to me and I have been having a lovely day, thank you. It's my virtual round...
I've had a lovely day catching up with friends in the South West. Met up with a friend of mine who gave birth to a lovely daughter 7 weeks ago. I introduced her to her partner, I'm very good at match making other people!!
I also saw a friend from my ex-work who caught me up with all the gossip. My other friend gave me a pendulum thingy which is supposed to help me make decisions, I need that at the moment
Tonight I'm just going to chill at my mum's before spending all day tomorrow writing an essay!
If I had some birthday cake, I would share
Thank you again for the birthday wishes. I'm so glad to be back :T
Big hugs

Hello everyone,
firstly - Happy birthday MushyPeas! Glad you've been having a great day :bdaycake:
secondly - congratulations Onestep! Well done!
thirdly - just had to tell you all of the bargain I got at asda this afternoon. Was looking at some of their 'reduced' shelves, when I spotted some toffypops and maryland cookies on offer - favourites in this house! The toffypops were shown to be 69p rather than their usual 85p, so put 2 packets in the trolley, and the cookies were 25p per packet so picked up 2 of them - checked the dates on the packets and they were all for at least next feb. Finished the shopping, went to put everything in the car, and checked the receipt to make sure all was well, when I noticed an amazing thing......discounts!
You see, the toffypops used to be on a 'buy 2 for £1' offer, so taking 70p off cost. Don't know original price of cookies, but they must have been on an offer too at some point giving you 30p off if you bought 2 packets. And they didn't remove the discounts when they reduced the price of the packets of biscuits! So when I bought 2 packets of cookies = 50p, and they took 30p off! Even better, the toffypops had been reduced on the computer to 30p a pack instead of the 69p advertised, so 2 packs = 60p and it took 70p off! So I was paid 10p to take the biscuits! Of course, in the OS spirit of saving money, I went back in to get some more, so we now have a bag of 6 packs of toffypops and 6 packs of cookies for the grand total of 30p :j We won't have to buy biscuits for a while! :rotfl:
Hope everyone is having a good a day as possible - hugs to all, take or leave as you please0
