    Morning All,

Beautiful day again but slightly chillier. Work today as always, DH is circuit training after night shift then off out mountain biking, he was out most of the night on shouts. I don't know how he does it, bless him. He's on duty again tonight.

Not much OS, today, didn't need bread to be made and washing will get done tonight as DH isn't home to hang it out for me!

Need to wash floors tonight and damp dust, also need to hoover upstairs and straighten kids room but apart from that not much else needs doing.

Have loads of chocolate in fridge so must make a chocolate cake, will make choc yogurt cake and think I need to hunt out a recipe for choc fudge icing for a choc sponge.

Dinner is chicken kievs, we usually have a "junky" dinner on a Friday, so this was it but as DH is working tonight thought I would swap tonights SC beef casserole with chicken kievs for me and the kids. Does that make sense?

Better go, hugs to all in need especially little ones (or probably not so little) having troubles at school.

Hi everyone, Just had to post here to mention my super-duper bargains from Sainsbury's. They are selling off all their schoolwear range £1 an item. It's brilliant, I got loads!

I think I'm a newbie on this thread but have been round and about the boards for a while now.

    Morning everyone,

Moggins, hope you come back soon, the place will feel empty without you.

Apart from making soup and sorting and flinging magazines last night I was too tired for anything oS. Despite that I didn't sleep very well and am feeling quite apprehensive about the visit to the cardiologist this afternoon.

Haven't been able to think about meals either.:o

i dont feel this is the friendly place it used to be, so im also going to look for somewhere else to go.

Please don't! This will all get worked out. Don't let any nastiness get you down. The nice people on here seem to outnumber the horrible ones, so don't leave!

Essex-girl - you sound like you've got a nice day ahead of you. Do you really go in a cafe on your own? I wish I was confident enough to do this! I did a clait course a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Look forward to hearing how you got on.
  • I'm actually enjoying the daily thread more today than I usually do :D I did find the long lists of hellos etc a bit much tbh. I like reading about what people are having for tea, how their kids are etc. Today there's been a lot of that sort of post, but people are also acknowledging each other and chatting and giving support where needed. I don't think anyone minds that :)

Strepsy I wish my local Tesco would sell off their schoolwear for £1. My ds2 has managed to get some strange unidentified grey marks all over his white polo shirts, and I just can't get them off. Goodness knows what he's been doing but they only appear during school hours

Still haven't done my baking and it's nearly the afternoon so must get a move on. Can't see me getting any gardening done today

Moggins and Catowen please don't go.
  • HI there,

OS n00b here! (LOL that sounds like an oxymoron!) DH isn't quite sure what has hit him. Last night I fed him homemade fish pie with smoked cod we'd had in the freezer for ages and Sainsburys' value prawns, followed by hm plum crumble. I have frozen a load of the plum sauce to have with chicken or duck or something chinese style. My hands still smell of fish though :o

I also steamed a couple of salmon steaks last night and kept some prawns back. I plan on making a salmon and prawn pasta-type thing tonight but not sure what to use for a sauce. I have some cream in but I don't want it to be too much like last night else he'll grumble  any ideas please?!

    Thanks! :o
  • Good morning everyone.

Such a shame people are feeling a little awkward about posting today but it is great that so many people have continued to do so. For those feeling a bit down, just look at all the new members who were inspired to post after all the discussions yesterday (including me). That has to be a great fat positive!

Well I did my meal plans for the week as I promised myself and feeling very virtuous about that. Unfortunately I have a big arthritis flare up today which is slowing me down, so more adventurous plans are on hold for a day or two. However, I have found a fab recipe for slow roasted tomatoes on one of the threads today and am looking forward to making that at the weekend with our glut.

    Have a lovely day all.

  • Hi Kerrygold and welcome from one noob to another:wave: . Plum sauce sounds lovely, do you have recipe please?
