    Happy Wedding Anniversary Lyndseyann

    Morning all :p

Late start for me this morning, but then we didn't get home from our friends' BBQ til 3.30 am

The sun is shining here and it's very windy so perfect for drying the two wash loads I have to do. I MUST MUST MUST list some stuff on Ebay today cos I'm back to work tomorrow and we really need the cash right now. The spare room is almost cleared now (it's only taken since August!). Once the boxes for Ebay/charity shops etc are all gone then it'll be spot on. OH went in there yesterday afternoon and sorted his stuff out for me.

Unfortunately the Vax we were given yesterday doesn't work, it must have a blockage somewhere but I've no idea how to fix that so OH's mates gonna take it back again to try and mend it. Until then, my carpets remain slightly brown!

Anyway, I'd best make a start really ... we're meant to be at a BBQ at 1.30 this afternoon and need to list some Ebay stuff before then.

Have a nice Bank Holiday everyone

  • It's a gorgeous day here, not a cloud in the sky,but it's not very warm.

Might have a BBQ later with a disposable BBQ.
DD has been moaning for one for ages ,I said the grass needed cut first and we both cut it yesterday(well most of it).

I am still debating about buying a new mower, the handle is broken on the one I have an I keep having to tape it together,It took 1hr 1/2 to cut some of the back garden ,meaning I let the grass get really long before cutting it making it a nightmare.

I also want to to buy some hedging have been humming and hawing since last year and I really need to buy it to give me privacy as my garden is overlooked by 5 others.
I know it will take at least three years before I get coverage but at least I will get to enjoy my garden in peace.

    DD is still in bed.

I have a driving lesson tomorrow the one on friday went really badly and I am upset about it,I know I should just put it behind me but I am a worrier.
I have three lessons this week and I hope they all go well.

    Warm wishes to all

Morning all - everyone just starting to emerge chez moi. We were going to go to the south bank to watch some ball room thingy but I'm not sure if we can be a**ed right now

N9aev - I agree too about you being econmical with the actualite - bet dd was excited
    Happy anniversary Lindseyann
Martyn - you're right about the weather - I always take good waterproofs with me and very fetching i look in them too. I love sitting in my tent with a good book and the sound of the rain outside. I can imagne it's a bit trying if you've got kids though
Triker - well done on getting that book - I have been trying to track down a copy of that for years after mine fell apart

Well - who would have thought it - that Aussielass talks some real sense sometimes. I had many horrid years when i quite literally fantasised about being single and really appreciate my freedom.

Oh well that's enough [STRIKE]housework avoidance[/STRIKE] waffling - have a good day everyone

I'm delirious with joy, BIL has moved in to her room & peace reigns.

Whoever asked about the dog, she's a labrador, very well trained, very friendly & like most labs very greedy, she even hoovers the floor in front of the fish tank in case we've dropped a flake or 2.

We went to a housewarming yesterday, hubby & BIL both had far too much to drink, so the drive home was funny.

    Hugs to those in need.

    Happy Bank Holiday Everyone

Final day of my holiday before returning to work. It's my Nan's 89th birthday today:T So the whole family - all five of us - are going out to dinner, but Nan doesn't know yet.

Going to have another look for jobs in a bit. I've loved not having to get up at 4am, and the thought of six day weeks again is depressing. I'm meant to be starting another side job tomorrow, but not heard back from them, so guessing I'm not.

Might make a sponge for Nan. We have plenty of eggs, which need using up. The bananas look to be on the turn too, so if noone eats one, I'll make a banana bread too.

Hope everyone has a great day

    Just to say 'hi'

I am so pleased to find OS-just at the right time for me! Life hit the fan and on IS (hopefully only for a short time as I'm applying for jobs like mad) I would have been gutted to have found this place in 2 months time and missed all the great money saving ideas,motivation-and recipes! I have found so much that is insprational here-thinking about it,it's how my mum budgeted and managed to feed and clothe us for so little. I have even more admiration for her now!
My soon-to-be-ex is waiting in the wings, arms folded and smirking iykwim waiting for me to fail to manage 'without him'. Don't what he's got to smirk about-he's back living with his mum an brother aged 47!

Anyway I'm hoping to get to know you good people as time goes on-you all seem to have known each other for a fair while so it's a bit daunting!
I am sue,I have 3 children-dd and2 ds,one of whom is special needs,2 cats. I live in Essex and it is pouring down today-kids are miserable as our skyeplus stops working when it rains! I have never been a great cook but I am willing to learn and expend a bit of energy to save money. I have been cutting and pasting recipes and money saving ideas all last weekend so have quite a little dossier now!
Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!

    Hello all

Well, not a good start to the day - weather very windy, clouds looming so rain on the way.................went upstairs to wash my hair, hair all wet and I find the shampoos run out !! Why don't people chuck out the empty containers ?
Still, other stuff is going right.............our lad here has heard he's got a job and can start tomorrow (hope this one lasts longer than two weeks which is the normal for him) -finished painting dads old tray and so Mum can see what I've done I painted a little card for her with the same design(well more or less)on it.I write to her every week so I can use it as a notecard. Whether she'll be aware of it I don't know, depends what sort of day she's having, but it makes me feel good to have done it for her.

I should by now be changing our bed and flicking a duster around upstairs but think I'll save that till tomorrow when the builders here..........I can hide upstairs out of the way.............lol

Have a good day and hugs (((((((((((:o )))))))))))) to those who need them
    Mary

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
