Glad to see you back with us Martyn, and sounding like your head is back on your shoulders:T . I can understand your thoughts on a career move, but it may be the quicker option to look for some similar work on the East Coast (where there are 100's if not 1000's of caravan sites) to get back in a closer area, and then see what is available there.

Moiliere - Yes we know.

Beth - yes I agree with Moiliere - don't make your arms worse before the op. Oven - not OS but easier on the arms could be some 'orrible chemical spray on at least to get the worst off, warm up the over, spray on and leave overnight or something like that. Maybe even a steam cleaner to get through some of the grime. Will the special council refuse collection not take household rubbish away at far less than a skip, or can you get it in the car a bit at a time and take it to the local dump. Skips are horendously priced these days. Yes Jackie-0 where are you?

N9eav - even if he was insured, it may become invalid anyway as he was over ther limit.

PinkW - My DS would not read fiction books at all, but would sit for hours with picture/junior encyclopedias, maybe that would satisfy his lust for knowledge. Re the war air raid, watch out for when "Reach for the Sky" the Douglas Bader story is repeated (again), it shows them tracking the planes in the underground bunker and then passing the information on, to set off the sirens and send up fighter planes. I think there is a Winston Churchill war room somewhere with something like this near it, or possible one in Dover Castle. This is the only online picture I found.

    HI martyn

Just noticed your location, you really are happy, aren't you :D

Very happy, thank you for asking. In fact I'm happier than I have been for a lot of years. If ever I get to Squeaky's home town, I'll buy him a beer or two. If he hadn't moved me to the Daily, I'd never have met you nice folk or "mi Julie" :j

PenPin, lovely to hear from you & glad you are home again, although sorry you are still suffering at the moment. Hopefully in another week or two you will begin to feel improvements? ((((hugs))))

N9eav, baby chicks?!?! :) More piccies when they appear... Definitely claim on the insurance if you can though, why should you have to sort it all out again.

Call off the search parties, I'm still alive, and very well in case anyone was wondering.

Er, we were indeed!!!!! I think there have been daily wonderings for the past week!!! :p I'm sorry you were feeling a bit low yesterday, but am glad you have found happiness again Martyn, you really do sound like a different person. Life is too short, and if you have a chance to be happy then go for it. How exciting :D (should we all go & buy a hat now....?!)

We had a power cut last night from around 11.30pm till around 2am (woke up when it came back on with all the electrical things bleeping when they turn on!!) Don't know what that was about? However, it meant oldest DD appeared in my room (to wake me up to say it was all dark.... at 11.30pm, lol) and forgot to speak to me like dirt at that point, lol!!!

Mioliere/D-G, I think maybe I shall practise the art of sighing loudly.....
charlies-mum, I agree about Eurovision, I don't bother watching any more (even though TW is very funny). We haven't got a hope in hell - in fact I saw his comments this morning on teletext saying that maybe all the Western European countries should think whether they continue entering, as it is purely political & focused on Eastern Europe now. It's a shame, because the fun element has completely gone.

Anyway, bit of pottering today, need to sit with my dictaphone & type up some visit notes from my placement to handover Tuesday PM. Oh yes, and make an entry or two on my new blog page I have managed to set up with Hester & Ceridwen's help :T

Have a good day all, ((((((((hugs))))))) to all those needing them.

Edit to say, Pink-W - I remember getting 1 book of a series for my kids (I think they were Usborne) called "Why does my tummy rumble" - and I know there were loads of others. Maybe you could get him something like that????

    Good morning everyone,

Charlies mum - Hope you had a lovely birthday yesterday xxx

Martyn - lovely to see you so happy xx

N9eav - forgot to say the other day, i would worry if i got a wooden hen house, that the foxes could get in (the egloos look very secure) i live right next to a small wood, and i know we have badgers and foxes, so wouldnt want any incidents!!! I hope you get your wall/garden sorted, and hopefully the council will now start to listen!!!

Beth - hope next wednesday goes ok, for the oven, maybe try white vinegar and bicarb? Let it all fizz up, and i would leave it for a bit and then wipe off - if that doesnt work i would prob go for specialist oven cleaner, like DG said, not OS but will prob work!!

Sunnyday - hope you dont feel too tierd later!!!

Ivyleaf - hope you and OH are ok today too xx

    mrs mix :hello:
    Taplady :hello:
    Shez :hello:
    Twink :hello:

Anyone seen Snowy Owl, Blairweech, Anniestar, ageandjo recently? There are some others missing as well it would be nice to hear from!!!

Im sure ive missed loads, but my mind has now gone blank, sorry!!!

The children enjoyed Indiana Jones yesterday so that was good, and then we went round doing all our shopping. We didnt bother watching Eurovision, i really do think its time we dropped out of it now - i think they only keep us because we pay the most into it, and i dont see why we should prop up everyone else (i believe we came last again!!). We watched Britains got talent, the semi finals start on Monday, so we are all looking forward to that!

stef - my DD was most put out that Doctor Who wasnt on as well!

Today, is one of our lazy days - im not even going to do the roast (will do that tomorrow instead) i have cleaning to do, and im just about to start my clicks (they can take me 2 hours, but they are worth doing) so maybe do the cleaning later (maybe not). It looks like it is going to rain any second, so really is going to be an inside duvet/dvd day today!!!

Oh, i do have my weigh in later tonight, hope i lose a bit more!!!

Hope everyone has a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Morning all

Penpin - Glad to see you home safely - hope you can relax and get better as quick as possible.

Martyn - Great to hear you sounding so happy - I met the love of my live online so know just how heartbreaking it is to say goodbye at the end of a weekend/few days together - we only managed for 3 months of that before he finally gave up his career/home and moved down to be with me - we were married a year later and have never been happier - I wish you both all the luck in the world.

Poorly house of Pooky again today - I'm just getting over a sinusy head cold, DD1 has been home since wednesday with it - DH is sneezing well and DD2 has been knocked for 6 with it - never seen her look quite so poorly bless her....it's her birthday on Wednesday so I hope she starts feeling better soon.

Went to Mr T's yesterday and stocked up on their bogof cat food again - got enough to last until September now - used some vouchers I'd had too so I think it worked out at around 95p a box of 12 sachets - rather than the £3.48 a box it normally is. I actually meal planned around their offers this week (no - we're not eating catfood!!) to make the money go further too - need to trim as much as we can from the shopping budget to help clear the car expenses that cropped up when DH got another puncture.....£320 for 2 new tyres and tracking - ouch! MOT is due next week too so fingers crossed everything's ok with it.

We're off to Pontins in a couple of weekends time - just our local one for a long weekend - will take HM ready meals with us so it will be a cheap few days away, just hope the weather's nice so we can make the most of the beach.

HM turkey burgers for tea, need to give the kitchen a good go over today and want to get the pressure washer out and give the parrots cage a good blast - need to pick him up a couple of new toys too as he's destroyed everything in the last few days...more expense but with the savings on the cat food I can hardly complain.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Thanks MIOLOERE, but I must get it done as it's costing every day it's empty and I wont be able to use my right arm for 2 weeks after the op.

DONNY GAL, why didn't I think of using a steam cleaner on the oven, :A I have one that I'll use on what furniture is salvagable. Failing that I will resort to chemicals although it goes against the grain. Must buy loads more Stardrops.
Also, yes of course, my DH bought a trailer a couple of weeks ago so we can use that, well done glad someone has their thinking head on. Mine is in blurr state.

Have put the bm on so I can do enough for sarnies for the weeks lunch.
It's conked out. So I've been looking online for a Panasonic SD255 and the cheapest I can find is £94.99p
CATOWEN, didn't see your post as I was typing this, will give the bi-carb a go also, many thanks

Wonder what else can go wrong, touch (head) wood.

    Morning everyone:j :j

What a happy start to the thread, PP is back and love is in the air for Martyn

Lovely to see you posting PennyPincher!!! you take it easy now, you've been through alot! so plenty of :coffee: and OS cakes I think!!;)

Eurovision...well what can I say:rolleyes: agree with you Charliesmum/catowen we should pull out now - total waste of our time! we've never done well since Iraq - and now its totally eastern europe!! surprising given so many of them are over here earning a living from us now:rolleyes: !

Yesterday I had a go at Impossible Pie (nice) and a bakewell tray bake (nice too). Mind you I don't know why I bother cos there's always something DH doesnt like, i.e: coconut, the almond in the bakewell, etc  fussy knickers as catowen puts it!!:rotfl: DD and I liked them though:D but not good for the waistline if you have to eat all your own offerings:o :rotfl:

Went to buy some eggs yesterday, cant believe how much they have gone up!! even the cheap eggs that were £1 are now £1.50 - thats a big jump! Seriously thinking I should get myself a couple of chooks now like penpen/N9eav!!!

We've just had one of the baby blue tits fly the nest and straight into our window! bless him, he looks ok and is taking shelter under my car now!

It's absolutely chucking it down here, they will have to put the Thames Barrier up soon to stop the flooding in my garden:eek:

Pooky - Hi, was wondering where you had been! hope you all get over the colds soon and enjoy Pontins!!
bethebee - try not to worry too much, i'm sure all will be fine. Also, I bought oven liner from Lakelands thats fantastic for the bottom, just remove and rinse and put it back!
DG - nothing wrong with ready made YPs:whistle:
smokey - hope your doing ok x

Have a lovely sunday all xxx:j
