I also wanted to let you ladies know that I went into Dunelm yesterday to look for beads and sequins just incase I can't be bothered to learn french knots when the time comes. Oh my life! I could have spent ££££ :D

Anyway, I noticed that they had a few kits for half price. Not very big kits though, mostly book marks. The biggest ones they had in the store were a Me to you bear and one of 2 cartoony elephants with an umbrella. IIRC they were all under £4.50 down from £9.99.

Shelly, didn't know DunElm sold anything x-stitch - another reason to go there!

Well I have taken the plunge and bid on a few oriental cross stitch kits from ebay. Hope I win, I'm never going to find the time to do it all though!

Me neither until I went looking for beads and sequins. The store I went to didn't have much though, just a few kits.

OMG, you could be my twin, I've been bidding on/watching several x-stitch kits on eBay to make for Xmas presents and have the same problem - finding the time to stitch them!!! :rotfl: I must have about 10 kits and 20 charts at home already waiting patiently to be picked up and started on but once I've bought a kit I find another kit/ chart I must have and so the cycle continues... :rotfl: I have a friend who has just started x-stitching after liking what I've made so one of the kits may be making its way into her Xmas present!!! :D

Rainmac - Hi sis!! I seem to follow you from thread to thread! Well I hope it wasn't you that outbid me on one of my kits!! I won one but the other one that I was bidding on (my favourite) I didn't get. Miffed now, they were both from the same seller so I thought I could save some postage. I find with my craft stuff that I like to get it out when I am alone in the house as I make so much mess, but that hardly happens so I never get anything done.

Wasn't me honest! ;) I make loads of mess too, usually only attempt anything when two boys are in bed so they can't pick up needles or scissors or anything else for that matter!!! :rotfl:

I tend to only bid on eBay stuff in the last seconds to try and grab a bargain, my OH suggested I do this and I think it saves money. I can get disappointed by not getting the whatever it is but there's so much other stuff on eBay I don't stay sad for long as can usually find a replacement :D

I love cross stitching and have been doing it for years now.

Must admit though that I'm finding it harder to see the holes as I get older! lol

I prefer working with Evenweave or linen though.

Hurrah, remember I said I got outbid on a cross stitch kit, well I messaged the seller to ask whether he had another one - and he offered it me on "second chance" - really pleased as I love the kit.
