I love sewandso - I spend many an hour browsing their website at work. It's a shame there's not enough hours in the day.

I'm tempted to buy this http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&uid=&Prod_Code=61533&ww=on&do=search_results but I've got lots of UFO's to finish!

I bought that kit! :o I already have the Bra one, and over the bank holiday weekend (I think!), Stitcher.co.uk had a promo on and I got the Cake one for £18. Haven't started it yet, but I'm working on the bra one and they're fun to stitch.

    That is brilliant Sally :T

If my hubby saw what that said it would only confirm to him everything he thinks I believe :rotfl:-I think we should all sew that one :p

    What is your next project?

Hi MRSMCAWBER, thank you so much. I've been trying to finish a wedding sampler which was meant to be given to my friend last year when she got married in Nov! However, I think I'll try get it finished for her 1st anniversary - lol. Nowhere near as big as this project.

Thanks Jintyb - It was actually a chart which was in a book and I bought the threads and cloth separately - I like to use Belfast linen as opposed to Aida.

Hello Rainmac, fancy seeing you here! lol. Thanks for your kind words.

  • I love cross stitch, have been doing it for 15 years now, recently completed a very large picture of the Blues Brothers for my Dad's 60th Birthday, it took me just over 3 hard months, but was well worth it, have got all my photos on the computer which has just broken so will have to take more and post them on here. Love all the photo's that have been put on!!:T

    Thank you Maria

I'll have to try and find it in some boxes which I think are up in the loft, so if you can give me some time, I'll find it and let you know.

    Hi Maria

I've just googled Rules of The Household Cross Stitch Chart and this one has came up for sale on Ebay - looks like they've used different colours but you can use any colours you like as the material and threads are all bought separately.

    Hope this helps.

Hooray, after 9 months of stitching I've finished the cross stitch for my Nan's birthday. Photos to follow...

Now I just have to work out how to fix it to the firescreen. I've got some wadding, and am planning to hold the stitching in place across the back with a zig zag stitch, like I've seen done with framed ones. Has anyone tried making up a firescreen before, does that sound sensible? Any tips for getting it straight and taut?
