Anyone Into Cross Stitching?

That is brilliant Sally :T
If my hubby saw what that said it would only confirm to him everything he thinks I believe :rotfl:-I think we should all sew that one
What is your next project?-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
If someone gave you £50 to treat yourself to some stitching goodies, what would you buy? :j
I would treat myself to another pair of gingher scissors. My husband bought some for me as an anniversary present 4 years ago and they are amazing! Not cheap-about £20, I think-but they are still very sharp and I've never had to sharpen them. And the handles are really pretty-all covered in flowers.
I also love these pillows. So I'd spend the rest of my (virtual) money on a couple of these. I can only find them on American sites, so it's either buy online and risk getting stung with a hefty charge, or hope I can get them when I next go to the States. I love Halloween & Christmas designs, so I'd probably go for those first...

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Mrs M - re backstitch, like you I am exercising a bit of artistic licence - i.e I'm not doing it all. I agree, sometimes the designers go a bit OTT with it and it spoils the over all effect. Not sure what my next project is as Ive got a myriad of kits and patterns to choose froM. I fancy doing some Christmassy stuff to put away. I'd like to do an Advent calendar.
Sally - that design looks brill! Well done - was it a kit?
Ruth-honey - those pillows are just my thing - fabulous!
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
Sally, your stitching is fab, I love it.
I am trying to decide on a Winnie the Pooh design to stitch for a scrapbook album I'm going to attempt to make for my friend who is expecting her first baby in July. I've had the charts for weeks and weeks but WTP isn't the kind of thing I like to stitch so have been procrastinating. I need to just get on with it!!! If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

I love those cushions!!! I have a stitching ally in the States who sends me stuff and I send her magazines from here.
I don't know what I'd buy, I'm rubbish at choosing! Could I buy £50 of 'time' to spend stitching everything I have bought and never got round to doing?
I do love these Lizzie Kate gems... If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

£50 worth of time would be good. I need £500K I think! :rotfl: Just been trying to dig out my biggest suitcase for my next trip back home and it was covering up (hiding?) my kit box. My 90L box, which is FILLED TO BURSTING with unopened cross stitch kits!!! I really do think it's an illness...
Love those LK's too. Her designs are great-and no backstitch!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Sorry I've been busy stitching 'The Holiday Train' and sorting out my threads for the Under Water Paradise!
I'm loving the lighter evenings as it means I can stitch for longer!

Hi all
Not that Im one to encourage folks to spend on x-stitch stuff  but ruthhoney have you seen some of the designs in this link ....it would be simple to combine several to make a cushion front

No, no, no!!!! I'm not allowed on that site. It's bad enough that my mum works 2 minutes away from the Sew & So shop (nowhere near as good as the website, but they won't let me play in the warehouse) and I'll be there in 5 days!
My sewing skills are hopeless, which is why I like the idea of a made up cushion. But I do love those little ornaments. What I would love-talking huge lottery win, here-is a massive house where I could have a christmas room & a halloween room, so my cross stitches could hang up all year round instead of having to rotate them because there's not enough wall space. I have some cute seasonal toys too, and a halloween snow globe that 'rains' bats! I think most times I've been to the USA has been Oct/Nov time, so all the halloween stuff is out and they seem to celebrate it big time over there. I don't know why I like it-I hate horror films and I'm not really into ghosts much....maybe it's the colours and the fact that they work so well in cross stitch.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

I love sewandso - I spend many an hour browsing their website at work. It's a shame there's not enough hours in the day.
I'm tempted to buy this http://www.sewandso.co.uk/cgi-bin/find/db.cgi?db=zoom&uid=&Prod_Code=61533&ww=on&do=search_results but I've got lots of UFO's to finish!
