French knots love them or hate them, personally I love them.
I pull the cotton taught form the previous stitch
Using the needle tip I wrap/loop the cotton round the lower needle 2 or 3 (times depending on size of knot required) keeping needle close to fabric where the knot is to be
Keeping the cotton taught push the needle through the fabric
carefully making sure the loops are still tight to the fabric with my finger as the rest of the cotton passes through them.
I don't release my finger from the loops till the cottons all the way through
Thats so difficult to explain
Read it through and ask me to elaberate where needed£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

I know you have done a french knot now but I found this video to be exactly what I needed when learning these stitches myself recently.....

Whilst looking for the french knot video I found these 2 also. I thought they would look lovely on larger projects or as border decoration on samplers etc....

I thought so too. It never fails to amaze me what people post on youtube. I just think of it as a place to go to look at videos of people making fools of themselves :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi everyone, got my parcel from Black Sheep last week, and was so pleased to have it. There was a sale on, amd I managed to buy four kits, different sizes, and I also had ordered a willow ornament which they do, but had none of the kind I was after in stock at the moment. I received a phone call from a lovely lady who explained to me, and we even had a wee chat, and she was so nice and friendly. I received my parcel quickly, and would def buy from them again. Thank you to the poster who recommended Black Sheep. They sell wool as well.Do a little kindness every day.;)0

I've bought loads of kits from them. They have very good prices. My mum sometimes arranges holidays around the warehouse sales and calls me to ask what kits I want!
I can recommend Jaynes Attic if you're looking for something a bit different too. She sells some gorgeous fabric and threads and the service is fantastic.
I am waiting for my friend to have her baby, so I can add the name and date to the sampler I stitched for her. She's 4 days overdue now...Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
