Darcy, did they not send you any paperwork in the post? Surely that would have your bond numbers on

I'm really peeved with Vanquis. Got the card back in May or June and they have not increased my limit from £250  I think I will keep that card for 12 months so I have nice 12 green zeros and then I will cancel it.

    Good night all x

I got mine in April but did not get an increase until November after 6 monthly payments

  • Hi All. My first post so pls be gentle. I have been reading this thread for some time now and can honestly say that you are the most friendly and helpful guys I have ever seen in a forum.

After reading many posts I decided to apply for a Vanquis card, Capital One card and Citibank current account. I have 1 satisfied CCJ and a default which will disapear on 24th of next month and only 1 missed payment with Orange.

Received Vanquis card with £500 limit and received Capital One card with £1000 limit, both due entirely to you guys.

Unfortunately I received a letter from Citibank saying "i regret to inform you...."

I am looking for any advice as to which current account would be best to try with my current situation. At the moment I have Halifax Easycash with Electron (7 years) and Natwest Step account with solo (3 years) both with no problems. I really need a Visa debit card but do not require overdraft.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Swinnie and welcome to the board :hello:

Congrats on the Cap 1 and Vanquis. Run them well and you will see an improvement. Bad luck on the Citibank though :( At least you have 2 cards to start with, and when your default drops off next month, maybe try for the MBNA or Flybe?

RE bank accounts, a few of us on here have had success with Alliance & Leicester premier account. You can apply online. I have 2 defaults and they accepted me, and Darcy has a CCJ and they accepted him. You get a full Visa debit and cheque book and o/d is optional. A&L high street branches are few and far between but if I have any cash or cheques to pay in then I use the Post Office - so don't really need a branch.

Good luck and stick with us. 2009 is going to be a great year for us sub primers :)
