I'm sure someone on here did say it could depend on the amount of available credit you have.

  • Afternoon all.

Sorry I haven't read the complete thread just the past couple of pages but this question is regarding me woman who seems to have a Martins Money Tips phobia no matter how much I push her in its direction.

She defaulted about three years ago on two cards but has finished paying them off now after a long and hard 2 jobs and 7 day working week drive (all settled about 4 months ago) since then she has applied for a few bank accounts (she got a Barclays one! no debit card just cash) and pretty much rejected from everywhere else including a £15 vodafone broadband jobbie and a sub prime capital one. I would like her to apply for the lowest of the low kind of card where even she cannot be rejected but I was wondering what the general advice is of how long to wait between being rejected and applying for another card to avoid too many recent credit checks being the reason for rejection kind of thing.

I am presuming just Experian as the search didn't show on my Equifax file

They normally only search Equifax . Havent said that , no search showed up on Equifax for me . I have read for others it shows on Equifax , and certainly with my other half it showed up.
